lobectomy - any words of advice?
The concept of a
lobectomy
is a little terrifying but the surgeons think it is the best way forwards. I am trying to be think positively (they can become malignant in time) but have read such awful reviews of the recovery process.

Crohn's disease and lung cancer
4 weeks after my right upper
lobectomy
in late August, I was diagnosed with a blood clot in my right lobe main artery. I was prescribed Xarelto and told that it would dissolve in 4-6 weeks. 8 weeks later I had another CT and was diagnosed with another clot in my vein.

Will anti depressants help?
I had a total colectomy when I was 18, 47 yrs ago. I still wake up everyday and think how friggin stupid I was to have had that operation done, but there were my parents in my room when the drs told me I was going to die. I really wish I would have had the courage to say 'send me home so I can die'

Neck dissection - results
The downside of the results means that the
lobectomy
I had two and a half years ago didn’t ‘cure’ me but at least this latest recurrence has no been removed. Hopefully I will be clear of the disease again following this surgery for a good while.

Starting a new chemo drug
Had
lobectomy
on lower left lobe in October 2014. I was told the surgery got all of the cancer but it returned in October of 2015. Started chemo in December of that year taking alimta until the cancer started growing. I then was on gemzar for about 6 months and it to wasn't working.

Just diagnosed
It appears that it was caught early and they have said that the
lobectomy
would be curative. Do you think I need to get a second opinion?

He had his

on 29/11/17 at Papworth hospital, the best cardio/thoracic hospital in the UK, and his lung collapsed, as expected, but he was discharged home with a couple of portable chest drains on 19/12/17.

They know my history,

How can I get him to eat post lobectomy?
My husband had a
lobectomy
last Wednesday by keyhole surgery. He is now cancer free so, very lucky, however, he is 77 and had lost around 2 stone in weight prior to the surgery due to nausea.

Post Lung Surgery
In 2010 I had a bi-
Lobectomy
lung operation. Initially I had limited physiothrapy but apart from seeing the consultant every few months any form of rehabilitation was only available by application. I gave up and bought a indoor exercise bike, brilliant but lost motivation.

Pembrolizumab Immunotherapy
The consensus was that they were both primaries which put the Multi-Disciplinary Teams in a dilemma on what to do first but the final decision was a right hemi-colectomy at the end of January and a right upper

at the end of March.

How long does it take to recover from a Lobectomy?
Hello, my husband has to have his middle lung removed. It's not cancer. However there are masses growing causing blocked airways. The doctors are saying it would be 2 weeks of recovery time. I on the other hand do not believe that. They will be opening up the chest so I'm finding it hard to believe he

Am I the only one
On October 21, 2014 I had surgery for a Right Upper
Lobectomy
. At that time they removed several lymph nodes and they were clear, meaning no Cancer. I have been told by many that I was lucky to have had surgery and the Surgeon was able to remove all the Cancer .
