Encouraging results from the CureParkinsons supported Phase II clinical trial of the GLP-1R agonist Liraglutide
There were 37 randomly assigned to
Liraglutide
& 18 on placebo (2:1); At 54 weeks, non-motor symptoms scale scores had improved by 6.6 points in the
liraglutide
group & worsened by 6.5 points in the placebo group; MDS-UPDRS III (change from baseline) = not significantly different Secondary outcome analysis

DRUG REPURPOSING - DOES IT WORK? by Dr. Simon Stott
And we see this in the case of exenatide, where there are multiple ongoing
Phase 2 trials in Parkinson’s for drugs that are very similar to exenatide (such as
and lixisenatide – both of which will be reporting results in 2022).

The need for biochemical testing for adrenal insufficiency and has anybody had liraglutide injections ?
Of further interest, the endocrinologist was more concerned about my weight gain (+21kg) on prednisolone and glycaemic control, which has been unpredictable and high as a consequence of the prednisolone and he prescribed
liraglutide
daily injections.

Semana da Obesidade 2020: Grande Avanço na Perda de Peso com Semaglutida? Obesity Week 2020: Great Advance in Weight Loss with Semaglutide?
Na minha opinião, será realmente um grande avanço no tratamento da obesidade. " "Although it has the same mechanism of action as
liraglutide
, the weight loss is two or more times greater with semaglutide.

Promising results for a GLP-1 receptor agonist. Exenatide group of PwP showed improved motor function in a randomised, double-blind trial.
They are called
liraglutide
, lixisenatide, and exenatide. This study is about exenatide. All three of these drugs are delivered by injection. (Bydureon is just a form of exenatide that you only have to take once a week, instead of daily.)

Nasal Insulin and Parkinson's - more information.
I haven't tried the
liraglutide
(GLP - 1 peptide) yet but I take that so as soon as I figure how to get it in an atomizer safely I'll try that one too. http://www.biochemsoctrans.org/content/42/2/593.full Jeremiah

Treatment Options for Type 2 Diabetes
There are also non-insulin injectable medications for blood sugar control: •Exenatide and
liraglutide
are two injectables that ramp up insulin in response to high blood sugar, at the same time reducing the liver’s blood sugar release.

Is it advisable to use VICTOZA even when blood sugar is fully under control with insulin ?
The victoza, a GLP 1 analogue,
liraglutide
, is available in injection form. Is it better than insulin if you have associated cardiac problems ? Is it safe drug with minimum side effects ? Any experience or suggestion.

Read this article...you may disagree, but I'd like to think most of you do not...
It's called
Liraglutide
(administered by injection daily) Once approved by The European Commission (which they say will go through in 2 months from now) the NHS will be able to supply this drug at a cost of £2.25 per day to it's overweight and obese patients.

Question: alternatives to insulin
At the moment I'm on Glicazide 80mg once a day; metrofmin 2 x 500mg twice a day and
liraglutide
injection. I'm worried that the hospital will want me to go on to insulin, which I'd rather not. Does anyone have any experience they could share? Many thanks, Cathie
