I'm currently on 20mg of T3
Liothyronine
in the morning and 100mg of T4 Levothyroxine in the evening and have been for the last 3 or so years with no real dramas. My TSH has been pretty static for the last 3 years at 0.03 - 0.05 with my free T3 & T4 levels being OK, in the mid range.

Should I tell GP I'm taking T3 on private prescription?
I was first started by FMD on 30mg T3
Liothyronine
(Sept '21), then down to 20mg a few months later - and in Oct '22 they further reduced it to 10mg because they said I was "obviously not feeling much benefit" even on 30mg!!

Still feeling Awful, but results are improving
I am on 50mcg
Liothyronine
, and 100mcg Levothyroxine. I did do my vitamins but unfortunately there was an error so I have to do them again. I am however too high now in Vit D so I will stop supplementing.

Good news
I have been taking
Liothyronine
now for a year and recently had a whole battery of tests done. My GFR is now well positioned within the interval and my LDL has dropped significantly, now being just a bit above interval.

Advice on interpreting blood tests when on liothyronine, & getting dosage right /adjusting it as you age!!?
Can someone explain, when a person is on
liothyronine
, are the T3 levels best in the upper third, the same as when on levothyroxine? Or should the aim be different when on
liothyronine
?

Generic Cytomel
Been taking generic
liothyronine
made by "Northstar," and feel hypo symptoms coming back, big time. Before this "Northstar" generic I was taking some other generic and felt okay. Picked up a new RX today, which is brand name cytomel to test my theory but not without a huge cost increase !

Increased thyroxine dose at W/E only
I also take
liothyronine
and my TSH has been undetectable for years in spite of lowering my doses of both T4 and T3 over the years. This GP wanted me to try to lower T4 again as I had just lowered my T3 dose without it affecting TSH.

thyroid symptoms after the flu
Previously taking Levothyroxine for many years and recently (December) started taking
liothyronine
(combination of t3/t4). First 6 weeks I felt amazing, felt like I’d finally found something that made me feel well.

Taking T3
My Endocrinologist has given me
Liothyronine
as my T3 is not up to par and I am symptomatic. He has given me 5mcg tablets to be taken 3 X's a day. I started slow taking 1 for 2 weeks and now 2 for 2 weeks. I would like to now take the third tablet. I would like to know how do you take T3 .

types of liothyronine
I'm prescribed
liothyronine
on the NHS, but recently I've been exhausted. I've gone back to the stuff I bought and guess what - at the same dose I'm great again. Has anyone ever had this happen before?

GP not prepared to prescribe a brand of T3
In this case,
they were unable to find any evidence of significant differences between UK-licensed
products. [my emphasis] Advanz Pharma
Liothyronine
is much more expensive than other brands and so based on this I don't feel able to prescribe this brand....'

Confused
I asked if I could go on a low dose trial of
Liothyronine
, but he said there was no need for that. I have averaged out my FT3% over the last 2 years and it is 51%, (which include a couple of spikes at around 80%). I do have a bar chart of all results over the last 2 years.

Forced to take Teva liothyronine???
I'm being told that T3 is hard to get and Teva is the only one available. Are others facing this problem?

THYROID HORMONE RESISTANCE 🤔
A subsequent ultrasound scan showed a normal thyroid gland with some nonspecific nodules PCR amplification of the THRB gene exons showed a heterozygous missense mutation, the recommendation was to resume thyroid hormone replacement with
liothyronine
10mg twice a day along with levothyroxin 75mg, unfortunately

I'm lost - no idea what I should do
I have reached
Liothyronine
dose 60 mcg daily = 20 mcg x 3 daily. I have been on Teva because excipients in other brands caused me problems. I have a lot of other problems to consider. I have been trying to get a shoulder replacement operation for over 3 years.
