T4 and T3 optimal 3 hours after thyroid meds, I feel great, but suppressed TSH is throwing a spanner in the works.
Hi, these are my recent results taken exactly 3 hours after I had taken my thyroid meds. (Normally, I wouldn't take my thyroid meds the morning of a thyroid function test, but my functional health doctor wanted to see whether I was overmedicating, worries about bone health....) I take 75mcg Levo and

Thyroxine 24h urine collection
Hi, I got some results back of a 24h urine collection done in October. Result of T3 is within range, but thyroxine is low in range. Any idea what it means? Should I increase levo? TSH is around 3 mU/L

Doctor refusing to increase levo, says I should not have been put on it in the first place (it was "against his better judgement")
Argh, I've just had an incredibly frustrating and upsetting phone consultation after 8 weeks on 50mcg of levothyroxine. I was on a starter dose of 25mcg for the 8 weeks before that. Current/past levels TSH level (range 0.570-3.6) 3.169 mU/L 13 Nov 2023 1.841 mU/L 21 Sep 2023 3.730 mU/L

Reaction to increased in dose - please help?
Hi all, hope you are well and had a great weekend. Following my previous blood results, I increased my meds from 100mcg levo with 5 x 3 mcg T3 to 100mcg levo and 7.5mcg T3 in the morning with 5mg T3 in the afternoon and again in the evening. I had no adverse effects with the increase of the T3 on the

Thyroxine dose reduced without my knowledge
Hello, I have been hypothyroid for around 15 years. For the past few years I've been taking 100mgs of Levothyroxine every day. I collected my usual repeat prescription for various medications a few days ago, and my Levo was missing. I queried it with the pharmacist, who told me my doctor had cancelled

levo below 50mcg
I have seen some prior posts about impacts of being on too lower dose e.g. below 50mcg, something to with Levo not being a "top up" and lower than 50mcg not being enough for body to take up reliance on. Anymore remember this and can point me to any content? ta

Low T3
Hi, I have been hypothyroid for many years now, but I am really struggling with brain fog and fatigue. I am currently taking 75mcg of Levothyroxine daily, but my doctor says I am overmedicated and wants to drop the dose to 50mcg . I have resisted this so far. She refuses to test T3 as she says if

stopping T4 query
Had a call from my endocrinologist today told me to stop taking levo and to take only t3 twice per day 10/10. I was taking 75mg of levo and 5/10 T3. So no reduction of levo bit by bit is what I would have thought. My Tsh is suppressed at 0.03. Has anyone been told just to stop levothyroxine and take

Endocrine Disruptors PBDEs Reduce T4 to T3 Conversion in the Brain
This study https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.chemrestox.5b00072 shows that PBDE flame retardants reduce type 2 deiodinase (DIO2) expression and activity in human brain cells. T4 enters the brain where it is converted to T3 in glial cells which then supply neurons with T3. This study shows PBDEs

Availability of Morningside Liothyronine 5mg?
I have a regular script specifying Morningside Liothyronine 5mg which I take twice daily. My regular pharmacy has been unable to get hold of it in recent weeks and their supplier is sending Viatris brand instead. I have checked with another local pharmacy and their suppliers are out of stock. Morningside

Reliable Genuine Source T3 Please
I'm gearing up for my obligatory annual NHS thyroid blood test in early December, however I did a MMH test in early October. My results then were TSH 0.01 FT4 21.4 (12-22) FT3 5.2 (3.1-6.8) This was on 200mcgs of Levo, I'm prescribed 150mcgs but had plenty spare to play around with. I have never

I can't get my thyroxine dose right, can anyone give me advice?
I've had an under active thyroid (hashimotos) for 13 years and I was taking 100mcg of levothyroxine for all of that time until recently when my TSH went up, these were the results: TSH: 7 (0.27- 4.2) T4: 16 (12-22) My GP asked me to increase to 125mcg which I did and then we re-tested 6 weeks later and

A friend
last Saturday night we went for a lovely Thai meal with a couple who we hadn’t seen for a while. (Since I began my own thyroid nightmare). The lady has had a lifelong battle with obesity, has had a gastric reduction, eats very little and is still, sadly very obese. I can empathise with this but was

Hi, I am 67 years old. I was diagnosed 2 or 3 years ago with hypothyroidism and am presently taking 75 mg levothyroxin a day. Last July, my back imploded (protruding discs between the vertebrae and inflammation around the nerve and the whole lower back in spasm) and a month later I felt a small
