Ruxolitinib & GvHD
I've been on higher doses of cortisone the last month or so to get over a chronic GvHD in my liver, after initial improvement things have regressed, my consultant is seriously considering replacing the corticoid by Jakavi (Ruxolitinib). I'd never heard of Ruxo being used like this, anyone have any feedback

What the BMB Result Said
Apparently 10mg of
Jakafi
2x a day helps hold it steady. Genetic factors are ok,. My CLL is there too but after 19 years not doing much. Only issue is platelets, bounce between 70,000 and now 80,000. Occasional purple bruising. So maybe the platelets are not super high quality.

BMB is next for me!
Could mean a switch from
Jakafi
to a drug in trials for my MF. Bruising and slow coagulation is a factor, but feel good and have great new doc: Catriona Jamison at UC San Diego in the USA. She's quite the scientist. I just hope our dear Claire Harrison thinks she's good too :)

Newly diagnosed
I will be starting
Jakafi
on Tuesday, waiting for it to come in the mail from insurance company. I am extremely fatigued, lost 30 pounds, bruise easily, stomach problems every day and headaches.

The Jackpot at last. Jakavi approved
I have been approved to commence on Jakavi which I hope is good news and a relief. I am just waiting for my latest blood results before starting. Platelets should come in at somewhere around 500. My dilemma is that my Haem has asked me to continue my current dose of anagrelide (4mg per day) indefinitively

Increasing Quality of Life For CLL Patients by tackling Fatigue
Estrov and his team discovered that stimulation of CLL cells results in activation of a factor termed Janus kinase (JAK)-2 and the drug ruxolitinib (
Jakafi
) inhibits this effect. : To test whether ruxolitinib would alleviate the symptoms of patients with CLL that otherwise do not require anti-leukemia

Has anyone on Ruxolitnib/JAKAFI experienced the drug impacting negatively on Warfarin? I'm wondering how now do I protect against clots?
Had expected to spend Xmas in Lanzarote. Imagine that now it might be risky to fly!
