ET Hydroxy/short break - Update
I did discuss with my Consultant at last telephone call the options of changing medication perhaps to Peg
Interferon
but this Dr. did not mention Peg. However I haven’t pursued the change as I had thought of going back on HU when necessary instead of Peg. as on reading possible side effects of Peg.

Switching to Interferon
I fear the long term side effects of the Hydrea and because if this community I'm no longer scared to try
Interferon
. I have been told from day one that they side effects of
Interferon
are "bad" but after hearing all your stories I think it might actually be a better fit for me.

dizzy, ET , aspirin and Peg interferon
Every so often I get bouts of dizziness. Often associated with nasal congestion so. I think it could be ear related. I am on Aspirin and pegasys. I have MPL ET. Could it be ET related ?? Any ideas.

Update on progress with MF and the FEDORA clinical trial
I understand the
interferon
will take up to 6 months to show some noticeable effects on the Jak-2. As an aside my WBC has reduced and my neutrophils need to be above 1 to be able to take the
interferon
so I have now also been prescribed GCF injections (300mcg) to be taken once a week.

Itchy patches
Since jabbing myself with Pegasys
interferon
alfa2a for CALR +ET diagnosis, I've noticed the appearance of several small itchy patches on my abdomen and back. The ones on the abdomen are not on the site of the jab.

alcohol intolerance
Hello All, I am 51 male had ET for 20 years currently on
Interferon
. After drinking alcohol I have a feeling of nausea and tiredness for days after. I’m not sure if this is to do with the ET or my age. I don’t drink much, most weeks zero but do like a social drink when out with others.

Interferon and thyroid
Is anyone on
interferon
who also has a thyroid condition ? I have been told by my consultant that they would not be happy with me trying
interferon
as I have an underactive thyroid and am on thyroxine.

Peg Interferon or HU
Does anyone know if
Interferon
or HU is safer in the long run? I've done some readings and it seems like HU is more toxic and can lead to some cancers. While
interferon
is safe for pregnancy, i am assuming it is the safest meds of all.

Autoimmune issues -- should I try Pegasys?
I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping I can receive some feedback on: (1) Has anyone with autoimmune issues been able to tolerate Pegasys (or another
interferon
) without any major issues?
