Preventer inhaler having no effect
Hi, I've been taking the preventer Soprobec (beclometasone) for almost two weeks now and it's making zero difference to the amount of times I use the blue Salbutamol reliever, which I take around eight times per day. I've been on the blue for around 30 years and was encouraged to move to the preventer

Chest infection
Wrote last week my TSH is 10 ( range 0.01 / 4 ) could this be the reason I am run down feeling low and got another chest infection , on anti biotic’s and two different
inhalers
, I asked the nurse this exact question she said “ don’t think so” and has never heard of hashimotos .

How to clean a spacer properly?
Hi I’ve been asthmatic for 15 years now and I’ve always just chucked out my spacer and bought a new one after a month. I was told to clean them, and I followed the instructions but the first puff using the “clean” inhaler was horrific- it tasted like I’d inhaled about 100 doses of medication. It really

Impact of reducing Relvar dose
Dear fellow asthma buddies I wonder if I could ask your opinion. With the introduction of Montelukast, I was already taking high dose Relvar and Incruse, my asthma has been wonderfully stable. I have taken my reliever inhaler once a week before my dance class only. I've been walking and dancing without

Please help. How do I get rid of wheezing in my lungs after 3 long lung drainage sessions (including nasal sprays) a day? True, I have a cold. I have brochiectasis, sarcoidosis and lung fibrosis. The wheezing is really bothering me. Should I use my Atrovent inhaler more...would that help?

Short Synacthen Test for AI
Has anyone else had this and managed without their steroid
inhalers
for a whole week beforehand? They did say that I wasn't to make myself ill, and if i need to take my fostair, I should and they will rearrange the blood test.

COPD and Braltus
Hello I was diagnosed with copd 12 years ago. Today I have used Braltus inhaler capsule but realised it was 3 months old and on the pack instructions it says don’t use if the bottle has been opened 60 days. I made a mistake by using this older pack. Does anyone know if I’m like to feel unwell? Thank

Update on appointment with consultant at severe asthma clinic
Hi, hope you’re all ok. I just thought I’d share my experience and ask for your opinions and advice 🤗 So, I thought the consultation was a bit one sided and it felt a bit rushed 🤔, but maybe that’s me expecting more of a chat.😆 He didn’t cover much about my asthma history just saying ‘has it just

Unsure what it is as not a chest infection or covid-19.
I ended up at A&E all last night with my asthma. The ambulance had to give me a nebuliser because I had a bilateral wheeze on both sides. The hospital did bloods and chest x ray and said that my chest is clear, no sign of infection and that it is musco-skeletal but yet I was still breathless. Now I'm

Newly diagnosed - my story
I was given
inhalers
for asthma and over the months these were up'd to the highest strength steroid
inhalers
the GP could give me, along with oral steroids (x4 courses) and antibiotics (x4 courses) also added Montelukast, avamys (for chronic rhinosinusitis).

Lung Function Tests and Nebuliser
I'm used to Lung function tests, I've had a fair few, I know when to stop my
inhalers
, no hard exercise (not done that for years). However, nowhere in the paperwork says if I should use my nebuliser, as usual, on the test day or not.

Odors and stress as triggers in poorly managed asthma
When my asthma is poorly controlled, I get airway constriction within seconds from odors (fragrance, cooking etc) which goes away with a rescue inhaler (if the odor source is removed). I understand that the odorous chemical itself is not an "allergenic" substance. Is the pathway of the constriction

Slowly but surely.
Was just getting used to impared breathing due to the hot weather. When my on the phone review came up. So now, just finished four days steroids. 6 tablets every morning. Didn't have any real effect for two days and then felt a lot better but now struggling again. I suppose it's all those chores I had

Lost inhaler
Hope all are well. Just back from a 4 day break away, just what we needed! Anyway I have somehow lost or misplaced (or put somewhere safe) my Fostair inhaler. I don’t have a spare, but have spare ventolin. I last took it yesterday morning (sat) so have currently missed (almost) 3 doses. I take Fostair
