CAR-T cell immunotherapy in the UK
Just read this, which mentions that while for CLL this still has a way to go, it seems to be the future for treatment. https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-us/cancer-news/news-report/2016-06-04-doubling-up-on-cancer-

“Disease Flare” in lung cancer
The Pirfenidone, while only for pulmonary fibrosis which my dad did not have, was thought to act similar to
immunotherapy
when combined with platinum chemo.

immunotherapy combo worked in 25% of asymptomatic and minimally symptomatic patients who progressed after second-generation hormonal therapy
Really good news: The combination of nivolumab (Opdivo) plus ipilimumab (Yervoy) demonstrated activity in a biomarker-enriched population of patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC); however, researchers need to refine the toxicity profile, said Sumit K. Subudhi, MD, PhD.

Often I read posts stating the use of immunotherapy drugs as first line treatment in other countries. How does a person bring about change ?
How to advocate for change ?

Timing is everything with docetaxel (and hormone therapy and probably with immunotherapy and radiopharmaceuticals too)
It also looks at optimal timing for first and second-line hormonal therapy,
immunotherapy
and radiopharmaceuticals.

New to group, wanted to share experience
I've began
immunotherapy
txs back in Florida and have seen some decent treatment response. I don't like my oncologist, he's distant and begrudgingly answers questions lazily, but I like most other aspects that this cancer center offers and don't want to rock the boat....yet.

Clinical trial for Imbruvica/Ibrutinib , Gazyva/Obinutuzumab +/- Venclexta/Venetoclax at 97 sites USA
Immunotherapy
with monoclonal antibodies, such as obinutuzumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.

Brain metastasis
I thought the chemo and
immunotherapy
that he is doing is helping on brain metastasis too but after my research looks like not much.

End of Immunotherapy trial - what next?
Today I had bone scans and MRI following five cycles of an
immunotherapy
trial. Although there has been no visible progression on my scans since October, we have not seen a regression, this along with a rising PSA was enough to see the end of my treatment on this trial.

Hello All
I am very restricted with the treatments my plan will pay for, but have been reading about Lu-177,
immunotherapy
, etc. Since my options are restricted, I am thinking my oncologist may have a lack of in depth knowledge of Pc, and the newest treatment options.

Doctor wants to move on to Provenge.
It's been a year on ADT so doc said he thinks I should move on to Provenge
immunotherapy
once MRI results come back. I feel good other than the back problems. Any thoughts and or experience with Provenge would be appreciated. I also asked if the ADT. Would be continued and the answer was yes .
