Any recommendations for Prostate Cancer Specialist in CT?
Second, my parents aren't happy with the initial doctor Dad was sent to (among other things, he told Dad there were no FDA-approved
immunotherapy
treatments, which looks very incorrect, according to my research (research is my thing :)).

Shocked again
A while back I posted a long post explaining all of the crazy symptoms I have been having over the last 18 or so months and that all of the specialists I’ve seen have said it’s likely long term side effects from the
immunotherapy
.

I'm new here...trying to help my mom recover!
She is also in a clinical trial receiving
immunotherapy
. My problem is her depression/anxiety and trouble eating. She finally had her feeding tube removed last week, and has been steadily dropping weight. She complains about pain/burning in her chest after eating.

Ryan is finally switching medications on Tuesday.. the anxiety is never ending. He keeps telling me I have to let it go and just be positive. It’s hard.. I am doing my best to verbalize that everything can and will be fine; but I’m really scared. The yervoy opdivo combo has knocked a lot of people on

Great confusion, great disconnect between the various doctors and treatment centres
And then
immunotherapy
. One treatment of that and she is destroyed again.. two weeks later. Back in local hospital for assessment. Chest infection. No appetite, sleeping all the time. General quality of life, bad. Her next 1/2 hour of
immunotherapy
in five days. I can't see her making it to that.

My worries about CKD are now secondary
There is
immunotherapy
which is given as a patient in the hospital but it is so toxic and only helps for a very short time, that the oncologists does not recommend it. So I will be in palliative care with radiation for pain as required.

Feeling defeated.
Have not had chemo or
immunotherapy
other than Leukine which was stopped when my PSA was rising. No pain, but emotionally much worse than during any part of this journey. Feels like the beginning of the end game. I’ve been sobbing all morning. Could use some advice and encouragement.

Phase 2 Trial of OncBioMune’s Immunotherapy Cancer Vaccine ProscaVax for Prostate Cancer Patients in Active Surveillance Now Open for Enroll
The goal which we are trying to obtain with this
immunotherapy
approach is to give these patients a third option which has more intervention than Active Surveillance but with less toxicity than surgery, radiation therapy, or hormonal therapy,” commented Dr.

Frustration
Do we know for sure that all these things are a result of
immunotherapy
? No...but no ones luck can be that bad can it? Maybe it can lol. Ok, I just needed to vent. I feel better now and the truth is; even though I’m dealing with all this crap...I’d still take the
immunotherapy
drugs again.

Ascites and drain
I am due to start
Immunotherapy
in 2-3 weeks as I feel I have exhausted most other options with Carboplatin/ Taxol cisplatin, avastin and now olaparib too. Has anyone had a successful drain without going straight onto chemotherapy I am fearful it will build up again fast while I am waiting.

Clinical trial / study: BRCA mutations
The two drugs are Talazoparib (PARP inhibitor) and Avelumab (
Immunotherapy
, Checkpoint inhibitor). Supposedly lab tests showed that there may be a synergistic effect between them, attacking the cancer from two fronts. Both are made by Pfizer, the trial sponsor.

Opdivo-Yervoy Combo Shows Signs of Activity in CRPC Patients with Metastases
The combo of
immunotherapy
drugs are what some think will be the key bigger results. Much like we have seen in HIV. https://prostatecancernewstoday.com/2019/03/06/opdivo-yervoy-combo-shows-promise-in-crpc-patients-with-metastases/?

Caregiver for 50 yr old Mom with Metastatic Melanoma
March 4th 2019 She started her
immunotherapy
(keytruda & zometa) treatments. Last week she ended up in the ER and a short stay in the hospital due to fluid build up in her left lung. They had to drain her lung, and it has already started to fill again.
