Ok, so I think it's been a good long while since this subject has come up, and I got this article. neurosciencenews.com/vitami...
~Summary: All-trans retinoic acid, a vitamin A derivative, induces synaptic plasticity in human cortical neurons.

The brain has an enormous capacity to adapt to its environment. This ability to continuously learn and form new memories thanks to its malleability, is known as brain plasticity.~
Now what do you think about the brain being able to rewire itself? I'm a big believer in it!! I have to be, thank you George!
If you can't go one way, find another!ππ€£
What's your take?

I love liver ~ calf liver is my favorite! Youβre lucky to have your mom prepare it for you. I have discovered that they sell it frozen here so I can have it in the freezer ready for consumption anytime!
My father and I would have liver of the month when I was growing up. We would try any liver available at the butchers. We were the only ones that would do that in the family. I so miss those days...
Though it was thought I was ambidextrous during my life, after all this time with MS, that has been proven to be a slovenly observation! HA! With MS combined with right sided RA, I had to learn how to do "it all over again". Cleaning from bathroom activities has been the Hardest Job to learn. Geez. Now I am trying to be a better handwriter...that is not working so well. My writing now looks like a writhing snakes. So I don't...I type and at least that gives me a chance to communicate!
I am grateful to all of you to know how similar our problems are. I really appreciate your ingenious solutions. Hugs, Bodega
Interesting research but I think it might have a way to go and we'll probably all be dead and buried before it comes to being something really applicable - the study was done with "...human cortical slices prepared from neurosurgical resections...".
I have images which pop into my head of people going to bed and opening the top of their cranium and popping their brains into a soaking solution over night - like people putting their false teeth into a bedside glass until morning
Indeed, interesting research on dead people's brains. As you say, a long way from being applicable tomorrow...unless we could take our brains out and soak them overnight in a bedside basin. Oh, to be a cartoonist!
