A Secondary Primary Malignancy hit me
The doctors tell us that you don't die from CLL; you die with CLL. What they don't tell you very often is that even though it isn't the CLL that gets you, it could very well be a secondary primary malignancy caused by the CLL that does it. Bennevisplace wrote on this a few months ago; i.e. the fact

Tomorrow is finally the day of my MRI after waiting 3 1/2 months since the ultrasound and CT scan couldn't be sure of a mass or not.
After having to postpone my original MRI appt last month due to the death of my mother, I am finally getting it done tomorrow. Those who haven't read my previous posts, a fibroid and possible ovarian mass were found on an incidental CT scan back in March where I was diagnosed with diverticulitis after

Guided bacteria, 100% effective in preclinical trials
well, I am citing... "With a 100% remission rate and no meaningful side effects in all the subjects of the company's preclinical trials, this technology is conceived to address all solid tumors, representing 90% of cancer and 89% of deaths." Even 50% of that result in humans would be amazing! https

Very promising: PIP Polyspecific Integrin-Binding Peptide, a novel and very flexible platform
Basically, they have developed a technology that can simultaneously bind to different "proteins" expressed by cancers. This means a wider specificity. One cancer mutation could express for example KRAS 12C and another KRAS 12D (just an example using terms and mutation I know!) and the chemo drug would

Consider the options?
Post total hysterectomy, etc., one cycle of carboplatin (couldn't tolerate paclitaxel) and now on Avastin i/v and Olaparib. CA 9, which is fantastic. Side effects are just destroying me. I am 80, the Olaparib goes through to mid June 2026 and the Avastin finishes at the end of this year. Oncologist

hi everyone- my father has MBC and is currently on Lynparza / Olaparib to target the BRCA2 gene mutation. He has been on it for 9 months and had a scan that showed complete control over his breast cancer on May 21st (not too long ago at all). The only thing that “lit up” on the scan was his Prostate

Be careful: Pluvicto controversy, dammit!
not saying that it does not work, in fact for some patients it is simply fantastic, but still...they have damaged their reputation with patients https://www.nature.com/articles/s44276-024-00065-7 The PSMAfore and VISION trials for Lutetium-177 PSMA-617 in prostate cancer exhibit design flaws that bias

The party is over …
Hi Everyone, Well, that dripping tap must have got me, finally!! No symptoms but a routine Rheumy appt preceded by the usual blood tests revealed that my CRP is over 100 😱 and my ESR is 80 something. But I feel no pain, except for the usual little niggles that I thought came with being nearly 70.

MRI report shows enhancing bone lesion is noted involving the left sphenoid bone.
That’s from an MRI taken six weeks after 10 sessions of IMRT were completed for a surgically inoperable metastasis in my skull. Apparently this means the contrast agent shows increased blood flow or activity in the tumor. Does that sound normal to still have increased blood flow or activity six weeks

My HB and Platelets have been bad for a while. Mainly because I haven' eaten anything. I am now eating again and feel much better (I had other reasons), but she has ordered me back for new blood tests and wants me to change to Xeloda. I want a chance to get my appetite back up and eating normally before

upcoming PET scan
so, here’s where we are… My Joe has been experiencing increasing pain in his left hip and thigh. Today he said the thigh is numb. PET scan scheduled this coming Tuesday. He thinks it’s a hairline fracture. Is it wrong of me to hope he’s right, vs his cancer having landed there? He’s 4 months post-Pluvicto

Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer. I have an appointment with md Anderson in 4 weeks which seems like eternity. I ended up at md Anderson emergency room due to some blood clots. They ran a ct with contrast & this is what report says Bilateral segmental/subsegmental pulmonary

Is radiation to prostate useful if one has bone mets ?
I see many people with bone mets advanced cancer say they took many sessions of radiation to the prostate. My MO’s never mentioned radiation ever , except spot radiation to pain spots in bones if any when that happens. Does radiation to the prostate in cancer that is already in bones improve survival

Ready, Set, GO!! LOL
Hi all of my beautiful warrior friends!!! I would like to know what you all have had as far as treatment. I am really most interested in people like me, who have had NO mutations. I am ER+, HER2 LOW I am about to start on Enhertu, but my doctor is hedging to the possibility that I am running out
