Reoccurrence despite mitomycin
Hi everyone I’m sorry to say my recent cystoscopy revealed two tiny tumours. It would have been two years clear so I was devastated. I know this tends to come back but we all hope it’s not going to. Next turbt (#5) is in two weeks. Anyone have something similar happen? I’d been on mitomycin monthly

Thyroid and HPV
My daughter has had HPV vaccine. She has always been borderline and under the drs for continuous monitoring of her thyroid. Since the vaccine her TSH level has risen and she has become fatigued could it have started her thyroid to get worse?

Can anyone help with CAP score?
Hi guys, Just wanted to ask if anyone knows what CAP score 247 Db/m really means, it came back with my fibroscan in which LSM was 3.9 KPA but CAP was 247. 3 months ago CAP was 184 so am wondering if this means anything serious so I see a doctor. I had hepatitis A 3 years ago and liver had failed because

Vitamin D and thyroid function, what really causes thyroid problems maybe it's vitamin deficiencies! by Body Ecology the way to be.
Common thyroid problems linked to This ultra-important vitamin. A recently published study looked at the impact of vitamin D deficiency in folks who other wise healthy. Researchers found that low levels of vitamin D are associated with higher risk of thyroid antibodies which are found in those with autoimmune

New research showing that a BCG vaccination may help Type 1’s lower their average blood glucose level
Has anyone seen this research paper or similar suggesting that the BCG vaccination may help lower blood glucose in tyoe 1 diabetics? If confirmed it throws more light on why people get Type 1 and may offer hope if a future treatment. Potential mechanism for BCG vaccine reversal of type 1 diabetes: Data

Hep B and Autoimmune Hepatitis
Dear All, I hope you’re enjoying the weekend! I am new to this group and I joined because I have a chronic hep B which I’ve had since 2005. My viral load is high but LFT and the rest are negative/normal. Fibroscan is normal. ALT is high for a woman but I don’t know the exact number. I’d lived in Scotland

Crazy Woman Ramblings
After the heartbreaking news last week that our sacs were empty and having surgery to remove them I have been so distraught, I have cried everyday and can’t get passed the fact that we thought we had finally made it and to have our dream snatched away from us. It’s so hard to put into words how devastated

Inhaler side effects
Hi all, I was diagnosed with asthma at around 12 and with the flu jab it has been controlled. I had the flu jab last September but recently had to take my inhaler more often. I used to be on a light brown one (unsure of the correct name) but stopped taking it 2/3 years back and just use the Ventolin

I'm new here, Interferon and ear ringing (ototoxicity)?
Hi, I'm a 32yo ET patient from Germany and found this group a couple of days ago. I was diagnosed five years ago with 1,9 mil platelets which are controlled by anagrelide (2mg) quite well since then. As some research points to superiority of Interferon in terms of disease progression I've tried Pegintron

Pulmonary Hypertension - can DHA in fish oil reduce arterial pressures?
I have discovered something that I think is very important and I just want to share the info. For those who just want the take home message - reducing Omega 6 in the diet and increasing Omega 3 (specifically by taking the DHA in fish oil) can possibly reduce arterial pressures. Everything you think is

New Italian paper below. A number of years ago, I read that men with normal testosterone [T] have a poor response to the flu vaccine. T dampens the immune response & that affects antibody production following the flu shot. One theory was that a robust response might be catastrophic giving the type
