Making Progress
Just over 3 and a half months ago, I had bypass surgery. It was unexpected having no symptoms and it being found whilst volunteering for a medical trial. At the time, I thought life would be over and that everything would need to change. And it did for a bit. I found myself unable to do things, things

Apixaban skin reaction?
I’m having the most awful burning, itchy, inflamed skin on my face that’s come on suddenly over the past couple of days. Im wondering if it’s related to the Apixaban that I’m on. Has anyone else had such a reaction? I have tried an otc antihistamine to no avail so if anyone knows a remedy I’d love

Any help on a 10 year old please?
Hi, my 10 year old granddaughter had open heart surgery in September to repair 2 holes in her heart . She has come through it just fine - thank you GOSH - no issues at all really, all she wanted to do was cartwheel, she can...so she's well on her way to recovery. ....However since surgery we've noted

New way to trigger an episode apparently
So I've been successful in remaining episode free since I had that short VT episode a bit over 2 weeks ago now. Last night I was using a deep tissue massager, and I pressed somewhat harder on a sore spot near bottom left back, I clearly felt my heart bump into AF. I then had AF (and not super fast

A Tip!
if you have AF ( with a family history of heart disease as I have) and start getting angina-type symptoms, don’t waste time trying to convince yourself that’s it costocondritis as I did. . Get yourself checked out with an angiogram as soon as possible. In my area it has one of the shortest waiting lists

Epigastric pain
Hi all I’m getting a dull pain in my epigastric region, that’s kind of the area just below your heart in the centre. I’ve had it for sometime how and mentioned it to the cardiologist but they don’t seem bothered as it isn’t directly my heart, even thought it started after my CABG. Im starting to wonder

Don’t run before you can walk.
Most of you know my story but for those who don’t,
heart
attack, quad
bypass

heart
attack in June this year. I’ve been doing ok since but that’s where the problem starts just because you think your doing ok doesn’t mean it’s time to do loads.

Wayfarin and angiogram
Has anybody experienced problems getting their INR to a level required for angiogram to be done. I am due to have one on Thursday and expected to have an INR between 2.0 - 3.0 (it's currently 4.0). My health centre and the hospital both say each other are responsible for managing my Warfarin dosing!

Heart Valve Replacement - severe dizziness and breathing difficulties 1 year+ post op
Hi! My dad had his 3rd open heart surgery last July (2021) and he's been poorly ever since. He had a heart infection which went undiagnosed for months (despite lots of GP phonecalls) resulting in an emergency valve replacement (he was born with a hole in the heart and was due another soon anyway but

Dilated left atrium and appendage. CT full results.
I asked for my full CT angiogram report so I can show it to Dr Hunter before my consultation about mini maze. And unbeknownst to be it showed mild mitral valve prolapse and dilated left atrium and appendage. As well as coronary disease. I feel like I can’t get a win ! Another punch to the face so
