Guanfacine

Starting low dose of fast acting adderall tomorrow 5 mg After trying Guanfacine for three months it appears she eventually burns through it and it does t work Doctor starting on 4 hour fast acting for 1 week along with Guanfacine Er 2mg Any input Doc did t thick increasing dose of Guanfacine

Our 6 year old has been doing great on Guanfacine at school and at home and now about 3 weeks in. He is having night terrors to where it is happening every 20 to 40 mins for the past 3 nights as we try to sleep. Has anyone else experienced this before when taking 1mg Guanfacine?

Either it’s like, “guanfacine was a God send for my child.” OR it’s like “my child passed out on guanfacine,”/“my child couldn’t sleep on guanfacine,”/“my child had horrible nightmares and hallucinations and peed his pants all the time on guanfacine.” It’s all making me very nervous.

Our daughter started the Tenex, short-acting Guanfacine because with her high anxiety, she cannot swallow the bigger Guanfacine smaller pill. For three days on the short-acting Guanfacine, things were so sweet.

Has anyone had sleep issues with Guanfacine it appears after two weeks granddaughter is doing better on 2 mg of Guanfacine Er however she is dreaming and waking up thru out the night wide awake Ugh I wonder if this will pass ?

So we saw improvement with Guanfacine IR. Doctors goal was to get her on Guanfacine Er once we got used to taking pills. She did great taking pill so the switch to Er was made for. 1 mg Ir to 1 mg Er. Did not work.

We added fish oil pills and also guanfacine. But guanfacine is a nonstimulant blood pressure medicine that can be used for ADHD... that worries me a bit. Is there another nonstimulant you guys can recommend? Or any other vitamin supplements? I have heard stuff about zinc?? But not sure Thank you

He is 4 years old and started Guanfacine IR 2x a day, Ritalin 5mg 2x a day, a melatonin at night. I honestly have only seen improvement from the initial start of Guanfacine and has since reverted back.

He does reasonably well with guanfacine ER and atomoxetine, but still is explosive, is sometimes aggressive at home and has wild mood swings (very small things can set him off). Has anyone had experience with Lexapro in this situation? Did it help?

He has been on Vyvanse, Prozac, and guanfacine for most of that time. He and I are in both individual and group therapy. He has some side effects, such as skin picking, weight gain, and difficulty falling asleep on his own.

Hi after almost 4 weeks of a split dose of 1 mg at 7:00 am and 1 mg at 5:00 pm it seems to be wearing off and not working Ugh I hate going up but is this a low dose She is 7 ADHD just started noticing over the past two days ugh

We have him on Guanfacine and up his dose at the beginning of the year to see if that would help, but his behavior has only gotten worse at school. He's so young so I wanted to know if other folks have tried different medications for 5 year olds with any success?

After a couple of days we decided to put him on Guanfacine IR 2x a day and it was amazing…. For a week haha. He had some drowsiness, but had zero aggression, was attentive and caring, just a complete 180 from where we were- I felt like I finally recognized my little buddy again!!

Hi, need advice - my 5 yr old daughter is on Quillivant 15 mg during the day and guanfacine 1 mg at night- she is always in her own world and does not focus on writing, we have recently adjusted the medications and she has trouble focusing while I am reading a story book.
