Advice before speaking to GP
In case it makes a difference, my Father had hypothyroidism and one of my sons has hypothyroidism, my other son had
Graves
’
disease
(hyperthyroidism) when he was 10-15yrs but is ok now (he’s now in his 20s), so thyroid issues do tend to run in my family.

Infant Hyperthyroidism
Note my Dad has
Graves
’
disease
. Thyroid levels and antibodies normalised and thyroid was within range during pregnancy but now apparently we are both hyperthyroid. For me: TSH 0.01 FT4 33.0 (9 - 25) FT3 11.3 (3.5 - 6.5) Thanks for your guidance and any insight.

Update after Endo
She believes I have
Graves
disease
, despite the antibodies indicating Hashimotos. She said it's not black and white, and I may ALSO have Hashimotos Thyroiditis but right now my body is suffering from Graves and that's what they need to treat.

Goitre and antibodies but bloods all fine
For info: my dad had
Graves
’
disease
Is it worth letting my GP know? The goitre is uncomfortable, causing pressure and a hoarse voice plus some swallowing issues but ENT said this was probably reflux based and not the goitre so they won’t do anything about that

with under active thyroid! Does anyone have any information on this?

Graves Disease, Covid and Paxlovid
Hello. My husband was just diagnosed with Covid on Sunday. He is on Paxlovid. Has anyone in the group taken Paxlovid for Covid and if so we’re there any problems with it? I also have multiple sclerosis and another autoimmune disease called Polymyalgia Rheumatica. Thanks!

Thinking of Stopping Treatment Due to Continued Weight Gain
I was originally diagnosed with
Graves
Disease
in 2014. My whole medical history is explained in my prior posts. I would retype but my history is super complicated due to rare illness. I have now been on Levothyroxine for several months and my dose is sitting at 50 mcg.

Total thyroidectomy remnants/ recurrence
I had a total thyroidectomy last year for
graves
disease
. Throat scan 2 weeks ago shows recurrence or remnants of over 4 cms on my left lobe. My tsh is 0.6 uIU/ml and t4 is 11.7 pmol/L and I am taking 25mg euthroyx. Would this be classed as a near total thyroidectomy or sub total thyroidectomy?

Carbimazole
So I was diagnosed with
Graves
’
disease
in 2020 when I had all the typical symptoms and my free t4 level was 37 which my consultant was shocked about and immediately put me on 60mg dose of carbimazole. I then found out I was pregnant changed to PTU cos it’s safer.

Coming off amitryptyline.Any advice please.
I was prescribed amitriptyline 9 years ago to help prevent chronic migraines.Started on 10mg per night.Went up to 20mg per night about 5 years ago.Seemed to be working OK.Less frequent and I could function if I did have one instead of in bed.I have
Graves
disease
and had a thyroidectomy last June.

Asymmetrical Transport of Thyroxine Across Human Term Placenta
It gives detailed advice on the management of babies born to mothers who have had
Graves
’
disease
. I feel many endocrinologists are unethically creating fear of damaged babies when a mother takes T3.

Carbimazole & hives
I was diagnosed with
Graves
disease
from a thyroid scan two months ago. I've been on Carbimazole for three weeks ( didn't want to deal with side effects so delayed taking it). Yesterday I woke up with patches of hives on my legs and hips.

blood test results Graves’ disease
Hi everyone, here are my latest blood test results from the hospital, the endocrinologist said I would remain on block and replace for another 4 months, I’m fine with that but I just wondered what the TSH suggests as it’s nowhere near normal to me, can anyone explain what it all means, I’d really appreciate

Newly diagnosed
I have had an apt with the Endo team at the hospital and they are doing another test to see if I have
graves
disease
, which I am currently waiting on the results of. I am neurodivergent and struggle massively with anything medical.

SSRI antidepressants vs TCA perimenopausal
I had my thyroid removed when I was 28 yrs due to
Graves
’
disease
. I had severe goitre, benign nodules, palpitations and weight gain (not the standard weight loss). This was 3 years after my first born. A year later I had an ectopic pregnancy and had to have a tube removed.
