6yrs on ADT (Firmagon )
I have been on firmagon for the past six years. My PSA stays around 1.1. My testosterone stays at about five. These numbers have been steady for the past six years and I asked my doctor many times if I should take a break. When they found my cancer it was in my pelvis bone with three mets .I also took

I wrote , about a month ago , about groin pain from pelvic

Does anyone take Boron for their bones
I am having some fancy scan in Dec for Osteoporosis (my friend who also has the same persuaded me to go too) and on the form it asks what dose of supplements you take. Calcium was listed, which I don't take but as I have high calcium levels and am waiting for a parathyroid gland removal (this year I

Follow up to my post 3 days ago about PSA rising after Lupron "vacation."
My MO said yesterday that an increase in PSA from several years of undetectable to 0.13 in 3 steps over 4 months is still so low that it does not warrant restarting ADT or any other treatment. So, I'll be getting blood draws every 2 months and the PSA will be monitored. I'm not quite sure why I thought

Hello All , from what I understand having oligometatastic ( 1 pelvic lymph-node ) and doing the SOC which Im on now . SBRT to the lymph-node and 25 fractions to the pelvic area , plus Eligard , Zytiga , prednisone that this may be curative after the 2 yr period of treatment . So if labs are all good

Don't take Tylenol (acetaminophen or paracetamol) if you are using any kind of immunotherapy
It may increase regulatory T cells and PD-1 expression, which stop immunotherapies from working. It also changes the enzymes responsible for drug metabolism, and may cause drug-drug interactions (also a reason to avoid supplements when taking other medicines). https://ascopubs.org/doi/abs/10.1200/JCO

Xgeva or Zometa, which is better?
I have been on Xgeva for over two years because I have metastasis on my bones. My MO suggests that I could stop the Xgeva. Please, I have some questions, and I need help. If I stop the Xgeva can I start Zometa? Is there any difference between Xgeva and Zometa? How long can one be on Xgeva or Zometa

No More Orgovyx, Continuing with Abiraterone and Prednisone
My MO and I have just decided to try the methodology reported in the study titled: "Suppression of testosterone production using abiraterone acetate (AA) with or without androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) in metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC)". Here is a link to the study: https:

Hip & Knee Pain
I'm on Firmagon and have developed some pain and stiffness in my hips & knees. Could this be a side effect of Firmagon? Does anyone have any experience with a supplent called "Relief Factor" which is heavily advertised on TV? I'm not sure if it's a scam or not but I'd try it if I knew it was effective

2nd month PSA reduced to 0.13 due to continuous BICA LUTAMIDE.
My 2nd month PSA decreased to 0.13 yesterday. My story is below. Gleason 9. 2017 surgery. 14 months after the surgery, i had 20 sessions of radiation. I am under ADT. I do dutasteride everyday and bicalutamide everyday. However, I skip bica for every 2 weeks after I had it for 2 weeks. This

Scans 8 weeks after first Lu 177 treatment
Began Novartis Pluvicto trial on 4/5/22 after failing ADT+abi, Labs two weeks ago showed PSA dropping from about 25 to 2.4, ALP from mid-300s to 187. That was great to see, but the results of my first bone scan (since starting the trial), done earlier today, are not exactly what I was hoping for: "

Bone scan results mixed
Diagnosed Stage IV Gleason 9 July’21. Hubby is at 11 months on Eligard and 4 months on Xtandi. His PSA went up to 34 at the end of April so oncologist requested new bone scan, ct scan & labs to reassess in 4-6 weeks. Not sure why the scan was very painful this time and it wiped him out as he couldn’t

Stepping Back
There is much healing to be done physically from my recent serious fall that resulted in pelvic
and a pulled groin. Time feels like a competition and I'm losing. I need to be right with myself, and that means taking the time to do so.

PSA BIG INCREASE!!!
My PSA increased from 0.46 to 1.09 in 45 days. URO called lasted Wednesday and told me the news. He is starting the process of looking for a affordable drug, xtandi, erleada or nubeqa. My co-pay for theses drugs is over $3000/month. I emailed my MO at Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC, we have a phone

Boron
Anyone know if boron and strontium citrate are okay to take together? Perhaps only one is better than the other. I have mild osteoporosis but am trying to aid a lumbar bone graft fusion from surgery 3 months ago. I take d3, k2, strontium citrate and biotin. I also am on Gabapentin for nerve pain. I

I am apprehensive to write this - but HOLY COW!
Hello guys n girls- I am a reader, not a poster on this site but -……. My 3 month appointment w my oncologist was yesterday. I was very apprehensive since my PSA has been doubling every 2-3 months for the past year. Still low at 1 but it was at .02 for a couple years. So I assumed that Zytiga had failed

***Six months scans are back ***
Good morning my Brother, I got my six month scans back and all in all I'm very pleased with the results. CT scan shows no progression to any vital organs, or soft tissue. There has been no change from last scan six months ago. Bone scan shows very slight uptake to one met ,all other mets are stable
