It's been a while
Hi, although I don't post much I do look in most days, I had a TBI in 2016 with skull
fractures
and a subarachnoid haemorrhage and although I didn't know at the time I also had damaged my cervical spine, I fell downstairs and the hospital never checked my spine until 8 months later when the scan showed

Compression fracture or something worse?
My question for those familiar with compression
fractures
, do they result in such extreme weakness? He is getting to the place where he can't walk at all! I'm concerned about the CNS lymphoma being in his spinal column, but we won't know until the MRI.

Ketamine - a profound experience
Three weeks ago I went for a Ketamine therapy visit. My goal was to reduce my anxiety and get help with my existential fears. Had tried Effexor, but didn't like the way it made me feel and was concerned other anti-anxiety meds would do same. Ketamine is a short acting anesthetic, but at a lower dose

Swollen painful hand
I've had PMR for 2 years. Was started on 40 mg of prednisone. I have slowly gotten down to 13 mg. Recently I tapered to 12 mg but have not felt very well & suddenly my right hand fingers are swollen & very painful. This has never happened before. Is this some kind of flare?

Week 9 #2 done
I'm so nearly there. I really did not think I would get this far when I first set out. I thought either laziness or injury would stop me but here I am comfortably running 5k in 30 minutes and with only 1 run remaining. I am truly shocked! Hopefully Tuesday morning will see me complete C25k and from

Parkrun might have to wait
I was intending to do my first ever parkrun tomorrow but having survived Ciaran yesterday, the sun was shining and it was fairly calm. Forecast tomorrow not so good- ah the dilemma, go out this morning or do some S&F and do parkrun tomorrow? Readers, the lure of a lovely sunny morning run was too great

Soft bones, under pressure to take meds finally…
In hospital for unrelated issue but connected as well. Very small fracture in knee likely caused by rough handling in a different hospital to the one I’m in now during a procedure. I’ve refused the drugs for nearly eight years. Prolia sounds dreadful if you can’t tolerate like my sister felt but locked

Asking for advice
Since I first diagnosed with PC (T3bNx, GS 3+4)last February, 2023, I’ve been through RP, ADT and IMRT continuously. I had Firmagon shot twice before RP and switched ADT to Eligard. Then I started 25 sessions of IMRT. All the treatments was done within 3 and half months. Now I am exhausted. I am

Bone Density Scan
She verified that after stopping it I would be at risk for spine
fractures
and have to get on something else. I'm just wondering if I should be having another Scan before making any decision. I'd also like to wait until my next dental appointment which will be after the new year.

Hip pain
I have severe OP, had 5 compression
fractures
, 2 years of teriparatide, now on Raloxifene. Over the last week I’ve had nasty hip pain, much worse at night. It eases with exercise, is worse with sitting and standing.

Broken arm while tapering Pred
On Friday last week I fell badly and broke my left arm - the humerus sheared off the ball joint and there are a couple of other
fractures
as well. I had surgery to fix the
fractures
. I told every doctor I saw about being on Pred, knowing that I could have an adrenal deficit.

ADT Checklist (Before, During, After)
Here's a checklist that our UsToo Prostate Cancer support group in Colorado put together. Use it when talking with your doctors. It addresses the questions of what you should do before, during and after you receive ADT treatments such as Lupron, Firmagon etc. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NGdwZtBRzbop3UExdIIGJUM4tDtcFxyQ

Limited Scleroderma, Autoimmune issues, thymoma, metal implants in joints
Both
fractures
were clean breaks but unfortunately both failed after two weeks necessitating steel wires and pins in my kneecap, and a titanium plate on my radius. Both
fractures
healed well over the next couple of months, and I was wearing a brace 24hrs a day for 10wks to help with stability.

Alendronic Acid
When I saw a new rhuemy yesterday she mentioned Alendronic Acid. I had not heard of it. I take Calcium D3 because a DXA scan showed osteopenia in my lower back. Would Alendronic Acid be helpful with Calcium D3 or instead of it?

Pelvis insufficiency fractures.
Which I had as i was diagnosed with Endometrial cancer, hysterectomy then several weeks later almost 5 weeks of RT, and I’m left with
fractures
. 7 weeks lying flat in bed and there. Was no change. I feel quite alone with these
fractures
as I know no one else with them.
