Bronchiectasis - Long Haul Air Travel
I take
Fostair
inhaler (200 doseage). Im on the verge of booking a one month holiday in the Far East. My GP has said I can travel by plane no problem. Naturally Im concerned about picking up an infection during such a long flight but do want to go ahead.

Trimbow
Has anybody experience of Trimbow which my Copd nurse has given me in place of
Fostair
and Spiriva which no longer seem to help. I’m starting this new medication tomorrow. I’m having to use my Ventolin 10-12 times a day so I’m hoping Trimbow will suit me. Dorothy

Seretide
Due to cost cutting at my surgery I was put on
Fostair
. This didn't work for me and I've been put back on seretide, however I've just noticed that I've been given seretide 250 and not seretide 50.

Feeling confused
My asthma is controlled by
fostair
. I took 2 puff's morning and night. I have been requested to bring it down to 1 morning and 1 night as I was getting a burning sensation in my lungs when I took it. I think my
fostair
is not working properly anymore but I am not sure on how to tell.

Is spiriva any good??
I'm currently on
fostair
200/6 6 puffs a day. Reducing to 4 puffs with 2 puffs of Spiriva by consultant recommendation. Is spiriva any good? I've tried to reduce
fostair
before but ended in an attack. Hoping this will be a positive change and get me more controlled. Thanks

Bronchiectasis and cold weather
I take 2 puffs of
Fostair
twice a day and 1 carbocisteine twice a day, and feel fine in myself. I'm still in the preliminary rounds of hospital appointments. I get puffed walking uphill and now the weather is particularly cold I'm finding I get even more breatheless, even on just a slight incline.

Fostair and ranitidine for asthma
I phoned my asthma nurse yesterday to see if it had anything to do with
fostair
(it hasn’t) but didn’t think to ask about ranitidine! I’ve since read the side effects of ranitidine! I’ve the doctors on Monday to discuss it now. I’ve rescently started HRT too, the menopause that’s something else!!

Is this an attack brewing, and if so, what can I do prevent it?
I am taking my
Fostair
2x a day, 12 hours apart. I am nearly done with the second week of going dairy free, under doctor's orders. Last week I was feeling great. Night time coughing, tickly throat, acidy burps and eczema were all gone. I was full of energy.

Asthma likely to progress to COPD?
Well-controlled on
Fostair
. Had it since I was a child (with a break in my late 20s to early 40s, now 50). Asked the consultant today if it is likely to keep progressing and become COPD and he pursed and wriggled his lips and then said "well it MAY not", if you keep taking your steroids.

Consultant appointment
They have changed my
fostair
200/6 to symbicort 200/6 so I can take it more than twice a day. They've started me on low dose long term steroid. They want to rule out bronchectasis so have requested CT scan and want me to go back for full lung function test. Back to see them in a month.
