Symbicort side effects 🤔 ?

I saw the consultant on Friday who changed me from fostair 200/6 2 puffs twice daily to symbicort turbohaler 200/6 2 puff twice 3 to 4 times a day. They have also started me on a maintenance dose of steroid.

Now when I've had a course of steroids I normally get a bit cranky for a few days either that or feeling that way because of infection/exacerbation. I wouldn't have thought it was the steroids as on much lower dose and I am supper snappy and feeling really rubbish and unhappy. Has anyone felt this way when starting symbicort? If so did the symptoms ease. I know my mood has changed as do my poor family.

I've not even been taking it a week yet. Does anyone have any advice or experience?

I've taken symbicort for a couple or more years & not come across that as a side effect, but I did a quick check & "mental/mood changes" are listed as a rare side effect, but one it says you should mention to your doctor. Other people might know if it passes, but it's worth mentioning.

As you know as well, prednisolone is also a side-effect ridden drug!

I've been on symbicort for years. I've not noticed any mood swings. I usually find steroids lift my mood because it clears up my asthma and eczema.
