Ablation or flecanide
Specialist says that when the hospital just put me on
Flecainide
once a day it only last 12 hours. My head is all over the place, frightened of going out now, just want to get back to where I was. Do you think ablation is best option.

Weaning off of Flecainide
Discussed with doctor via email who said I can try PIP
Flecainide
because I’ve developed tinnitus. Doctor said I could stop cold turkey, was thinking she would say to wean off of it. Anyone gone cold turkey before? Only been taking it 4 months.

Afib, Flecainide and Exercise
Since then on
Flecainide
and had two mini episodes 2 and 5 hours. Now I find its is taking me 5 minutes longer to do the same distance and I have to keep stopping as I feel I've given my all. A little rest/walk and I can start again.

Watchman Device
Again it did not suit so am now on
Flecainide
50mg. I am feeling much better but still get chest pain but I can manage with that. Due to the bleed I am unable to go on any anticoagulants and have now had a chance to be part of clinical trial for a Watchman device to be fitted.

Tinnitus
I think it may be related to the
Flecainide
? Anyone have experience with this?

Do Flecainide and Bisoprolol make you feel worse?
I'm not sure if the
Flecainide
works for me anyway but I think the Bisoprolol is probably the biggest culprit. I feel that if the meds are making me feel this bad they can't be doing me much good. Sorry for droning on. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Thanks

IST & POTS
I saw another ep specialist 2 days ago after still having svt while on 100x2
flecainide
. He says I have IST and POTS, since there weren't able to bring svt on during my ablation and also from reviewing my records. I'm now on Corlanor and Midodrine.

First Ablation last Monday - so far so good
I'm back on beta blocker,
Flecainide
50x2 per day and anticoagulent. EP says he'll consider discontinuing meds in 3 months. I was shocked at this, I thought it would be sooner, and a main reason for having the ablation is to get off the
Flecainide
which makes me very fatigued.

Flecainide
is a heavy duty drug for sure. My cardio says it works on the Central Nervous System. When you take a medicine it stays in your body for a certain period of time.

Need reassurance
Had ablation 25th April, at present still on 150 mg of
Flecainide
, will have to stop them before seeing cardiologist in Sept. All fine during the day, however during the night getting palpitations. They only last a very short time and then disappear during the day! Anyone know why or has had these?

well I did it!!
Very sore inside my chest but to be expected, EP is 99% it was successful, A little concerned I have been told to stop my bisoprolol 2.5 and also my 50mg twice daily
Flecainide
. My current pulse rate is around 58/60 NSR, here's hoping my PAF doesn't kick in.

Flecainide and Tinnitus
After taking
Flecainide
for 12 months I have tinnitus. Which I understand can be a side effect of this drug. Has anybody experienced tinnitus while taking
Flecainide
and did it stop if/when you discontinued the drug? Thanks Kfib

What next, if anything?
Does anyone have any recommendations as what might be the next course of action after 6 cardioversions, an ablation,
flecainide
, tikosyn...and nothing works. I'm in afib all the time and just getting darn tired, literally and figuratively. I've tried taurine (which actually helped for awhile!)

Stopped Pills - Heart went back to sinus rhythm
Well it didn't and after 8 months I thought to myself, why am I taking
Flecainide
and Metoprolol if it's not stopping my AF? On the 23rd June I made a decision to stop these pills.

Status report -- 2 weeks post cryoablation
I've been instructed to continue taking an anti-arrhythmic (
flecainide
50 mg B.I.D.) for the first 2 months (then stop), and at the 3 month point I'll be having a follow-up visit with the EP folks.

I’m 3 week’s post ablation - for Flutter and Fibrillation- flutter hasn’t returned but I’m on
flecainide
100mg twice a day for the fibrillation. Hope that’s only short term. Loving the Kardia - particularly on the Apple Watch! 🌻
