Started experiencing this ringing in my ears that has gradually increased in frequency and duration. I think it may be related to the Flecainide? Anyone have experience with this?

Tinnitus
I have taken Flecainide for many years and also suffer from acute Tinnitus 24/7.
However I cannot necessarily make a link between the two as I have always put the Tinnitus down to being in night clubs and listening to loud music regularly in my youth.

If you search there has been previous discussions about possible link between flecainide and tinnitus- I take flecainide and I also have developed tinnitus since being prescribed this med. I am currently seeing ENT about my hearing in general which has mysteriously worsened again since AF diagnosed. I am not really expecting anyone in the medical profession to agree that there is a link - along with other side effects from other meds it is easier for them to ignore!!
Have you a b12 issue. Over in the pernicious anemia society on here I learned that not only does it cause tinnitus but can also cause heart arythmias. I've only started taking it and had other symptoms like restless legs and a tickling feeling all over ..I took it a while back and it got rid of the tickling but I then stopped as it was making my legs buzzy but apparently that can be a sign its working. Anyway I stopped and my tinnitus has come back so I'm hoping it goes away again now. Fingers crossed. Everything in your entire body is related ...everything.
I have pulsatile tinnitus but only took flecainide a couple of times some fourteen years ago so think it unlikely to be connected. Regular exposure to noisy race engines over fifty years is far more likely to be my reason. Those racing Mazda Rotaries used to really hurt! Made a V16 BRM sound quiet.
I take Bisoprolol and have constant, loud tinnitus.Strangely,it increases in volume around the time the next dose is due.
Just be aware that tinnitus can be a sign of an underactive thyroid. So if you are feeling tired and lethargic please get it checked.

Hi vandalbragg, I have very loud/strong pulsatile tinnitus but I don’t take flecainide. I read somewhere that the ramipril I take can cause tinnitus... It sounds like there might be a link with several different meds? Horrid, whatever the cause. Hope you can get to the bottom of it.
I was told that the tinnitus I have was caused through loud music (possibly I was a jive and jazz jiver and loved the loud beat and dancing), then told that because my boss used to dictate on an audio machine when on the train so had to turn it up loud, then was told that it was the aspirin causing it. I know it's a nuisance, but hopefully you will get used to it.
B12 deficiency can cause that and heart arythmias. I just started taking it last night so can't say if it has helped yet but its a very safe vitimin that you pee out I'm told you can't overdose. Have a look in the pernicious anemia section on here they have lots of info about it. That's where I learned about it being relatiled to heart things as well.
