well I did it!!

Flutter ablation done, came home evening today ,I had to stay in a night due to being a bit dizzy and sick, I think due to morphine.

Very sore inside my chest but to be expected, EP is 99% it was successful, A little concerned I have been told to stop my bisoprolol 2.5 and also my 50mg twice daily Flecainide. My current pulse rate is around 58/60 NSR, here's hoping my PAF doesn't kick in.

Hope to take things easy for a while as advised by fellow members. I am very tired now so will say night night and thanks again for all the best wishes.

Carol

Glad that it's done, well done you. Hope you had a comfortable night. Do rest as much as you can for the first two weeks and then very gradually get back to your normal routine/activities. Your body will let you know how much you can and can't do!

Yes thanks jobristol, had a fair night despite the heat! will make a real effort to rest when my body tells me (not good at that) also hope you are keeping well. I don't post very often but I pop in and try to keep abreast of others.

Well done Relax at home now recover well

will do Vonnie , hope you are keeping the rogue anxiety monster at bay!! I understand what it is like and will always think that's what contributed to my AF.

I did not realise this could happen at the time as I have had PAF for 30 years and we did not get any info at that time and I was only ever under a cardiologist for 26 of those years. It was A &E we got me to see an electropysiologist due to development of the flutter and numerous visits to A&E. Don't despair there is plenty of help out there. Take care

Could it be hormonal I wander? Haven't heard of Ibuprofen one before. I also think we look for a reason to make sense of things a lot of the time ,maybe acceptance and dealing with it now is the way forward for you.

good luck

2. NSAID pain relievers, such as naproxen and ibuprofen. If you have atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) and are on blood thinners to lower your risk of blood clots and stroke, beware of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). NSAIDs include common pain relievers naproxen (Aleve®) and ibuprofen (

There is a proven link that Ibuprofen causes Afib so you are probably correct in your analysis. Don't use it ever.

How different all EP seem to be I had my ablation on the 2nd of May and was told to continue with my current meds 100mg of flecinide twice a day and 1.25mg of bisoprlol and rivaroxaban.

I will be going back to see him/arrhythmia nurse at the end of July, I take it that we will then discuss reducing/stopping my Heart drugs for rhythm and rate, as the procedure seems to have been a great success

All the best hope things go well for you

having loads of all sorts of odd beats at the moment ,not nice and I know its early days, will try to bear them, they are very disruptive though and a bit scary!!

I must admit when I was getting the eptopic beats it scared me as this was usually the prelude to going into AF but a bit of deep breathing and calming down for me works fine, I have started taking magnesium citrate, now weather it's the placebo effect or not my eptopics seem to have reduced greatly

Did you have flutter or AF ablation?

Brizzy50000 profile image
Brizzy50000 in reply tocaznear68

I had Flutter and AF ablation, the EP told me on the day I was in for AF that I had atrial flutter as well, he said it would make no difference to me, just said the procedure would take a bit longer 4 and half hours it lasted.
