Zytiga after nearly four months
I'd say this has been relatively easy to tolerate, the side effects whether from this or from the
Firmagon
injection I receive monthly are hard to seperate but I have had the usual tiredness, muscle and bone aches, mood swings.

Medication questions
Firmagon
v. Lupron. Presently taking
Firmagon
, but I think my MO may want to switch me to Lupron. They do the same thing, and
Firmagon
is a shot every 4 weeks while Lupron is every 3 months.

Treatments:
Firmagon
then Lupron, Bicalutamide 50 MG daily, Xgeva for bone health. Also, had spot radiation both legs, shoulder, helped with pain. Thinking I need to push harder for Zitiga instead of Bicalutamide.

Pancreatitis & aggressive prostate cancer question.....
I’ve been reading, and I don’t think
Firmagon
is linked to a pancreas attack, so I’m betting on bad luck & past alcohol consumption.

Firmagon reaction
I’ve seen a few posts on various sites regarding the side effects of taking
Firmagon
. I’ve been on the drug since December and have until now flown through the treatment, a little fatigued, localised redness at injection point (for a day or two), few muscle aches, no labido, but all manageable.

And we're off...
Hubby got his 1st loading shots of
firmagon
yesterday, so far he's experienced itchiness and pain at injection sites. Why does it somehow feel like the beginning of the end? Any tips on how to make any of this any better for both of us?

Firmagon?
It has been suggested that my husband would start hormone therapy with a 1 month shot of
firmagon
. How long does it take before it starts to take effect? You experience side effects? What has been your experience with
firmagon
? Any tips on how to make it any easier?

Tomorrow it all changes...
Tomorrow we have multiple meetings at the cancer center and one of them will be for him to get his first 2 shots of
firmagon
. We'll also go over the results from the 3t MRI he had yesterday, he already had the CT and bone scan. We're also to meet with a counselor. It's all so much to take in...

Need to decide path forward... which way to go?
Started with a double loading sho of
firmagon
March 6th. Discussed the additional recommendation of adding Zytiga/prednisone (STAMPEDE) or docetaxel (also STAMPEDE) to hormonal therapy in node positive disease setting; overall survival benefit is noted.

Edema at elbow or elbow bursitis with Firmagon?
After about a month on
Firmagon
(my 1st of any treatment), I noticed that one of my elbows was sore if I rested it on my desk chair at work. I didn't think anything of it and I didn't mention it when I went for my second injection last week.

Firmagon versus Lupron
I’ve been on
Firmagon
for 3 mths now, PSA is <1, so the initial T flare often associated with Lupron is not an issue. I read here that most ADT prescribed is Lupron. Should I consider switching from
Firmagon
to Lupron? Night sweats seem to be my most annoying current side effect.

Probiotics during treatment
Right now he’s waiting for radiation & currently had a
Firmagon
shot. He’s also on a blood thinner for Factor V. I’m not sure that’s relevant, but thought I’d add it in. I want to be prepared for what may come w/ treatment side effects.

PSA dropping
Just completed my first month of Zytiga/prednisone alongside
Firmagon
. My PSA at diagnosis was 55 two months ago and went quickly to 68. My results today indicate a drop down to 45. Not sure whether this is good or bad.

Your thoughts?
Over the past 7 years I've had surgery, radiation, and 18 months of ADT (
firmagon
/lupron). After a 6 month ADT holiday, this month my PSA went up to 60 and I have a pelvic lymph node that lit up. No other bone or soft tissue hot spots. I've now restarted my healthcare adventures.

One-Year In -- Looking for help with a medical plan
March - ADT with one-month
Firmagon
injection. April - Eligard injection with six-month potency. Also started monthly XGeva injections. No other medication. Results, with quarterly PSA tests: PSA dropped to 0.85-0.90 range where it is now.

Newbie with questions
I’m treating with
Firmagon
and Xgeva every 4 weeks, casodex and prednisone daily, docetaxel and neulasta every 3 weeks. Plan is to add Zytiga after we finish the 6 docetaxel treatments. I wouldn’t wish Docetaxel on my worst enemy, but i’m over half finished.

Intro- New to Group
Unfortunately, 6 months into the treatment, I suffered a heart attack, and later a TIA incident that scared me off the trial one month early (Lupron may have been the culprit;
Firmagon
doesn't seem to occasion the same heart-health concerns).

New Here - Can You Recommend an Atlanta Medical Oncologist
I am only using the current oncologist to get labs and a
firmagon
shot every month. In any case, I want to change to another medical oncologist.
