Edema at elbow or elbow bursitis with Firmagon?

After about a month on Firmagon (my 1st of any treatment), I noticed that one of my elbows was sore if I rested it on my desk chair at work. I didn't think anything of it and I didn't mention it when I went for my second injection last week. As a sidebar, I started my Zytiga treatment right after my 2nd Firmagon injection but I don't think it is related. Today I realized that I have a edema around the tip or outside point of my right elbow. I've never had anything like this before.

Has anyone had anything like this happen to them?

We had a member nameless on this site who we all miss use to tell us exercise is the best medicine for these issues. Myself, always worked around the pain and it resolved itself in time. Tennis elbow long gone, now its my rt. shoulder. Still can do bench presses and push ups but military press tough. Rocco

Do you think that your tennis elbow was from a specific med you were or are taking?

Started Zitiga in october--on dec24 my left elbow started to hurt--red -hot-- swollen and within three days my elbow bursa swelled up to almost tennis ball size and stayed that way for several weeks. It slowly got better but was still pretty big in early Feb when I tried OSMO PATCH--a sort of poltice attached to the elbow overnight--worked and fluid drained into patch and my elbow is back to normal. It was getting better by the time I tried the patch.

If this had happened to an ankle or knee I would have been on crutches--Bad side effect --recognized by Jansen but not known by onco.

I remember reading how zytiga could cause edema. Mine seems to have started before I started zytiga. From your experience, it doesn't sound it's going to help being on it. Thanks for sharing.

A guess here.

Sounds like cellulitis to me.

Good Luck and Good Health.

APC and treatments reek havoc on our joints .I had hip bursitis ..Incredible pain .You can help the bursitis. Usually bursitis is agrivated by wrong movement. Rest ,ice,if swollen ,wrap if nessesary for support then when no swelling use static heat and ice . My opinion is it’s all due to adt. Good luck ..Find help. I got a great vid from rick kaselj on line .$15 with a routine to help these injuries.

Dam , that sucks , I had no idea the YOU are going thru this stuff also. .I guess it’s unanimous. I have simalar issues.

This sounds like ‘student’s elbow ‘ or olecranon bursitis. I doubt it is related to Firmagon .
