I’ve seen a few posts on various sites regarding the side effects of taking Firmagon. I’ve been on the drug since December and have until now flown through the treatment, a little fatigued, localised redness at injection point (for a day or two), few muscle aches, no labido, but all manageable. Yesterday I had my fourth shot, waking up this morning I have flu like symptoms, head and muscle aches, a few firing pains in my back and feel knocked sideways. I wasn’t expecting this! Hoping these side effects pass later or in the next day or so. If you have any experience of this or ideas how to minimise the effect please let me know.

Firmagon reaction
I had something flu like after the second injection. Day after injection, that evening had chills, wiped out, thought I got the flu, but no fever. By next day, it was noticeably better and a 2/3 days later was back to normal.
The rest of the time, it was similar mild side effects to what you described.
Good Friday Morning easeytiger,
I have been in this battle for almost 6 years (please see bio for complete treatment history).
Over the course of treatments I have used Firmagon for at least 3 cycles and I always felt like I had the flu the day after injection.
After a year or so, I would go back to Lupron or Trelstar for a break from the side effects and from the every 28 day requirement, and then back to Firmagon.
Best wishes. Never Give In.
