Severe asthma attack but here to tell the tale
I’ve had the most scariest 48 hours of my life ! Last week I developed what I thought was a cold which rapidly made an impact on my secretions. I took a sputum year to the lab directly ( I’m a nurse so can do that ) and went home sick. Saw my gp on Friday who started me on co-amoxiclav as I had growing

Dementia Risk & Commen Inhaler
Did anyone know risk of dementia from taking popular COPD ASTHMA inhalers use to treat lung disease. Guess that’s why doctors not really intrested in treating those with lung dieases proactivly AS if lung diease don’t get us drugs used to treat it increas risk of use developing dementia. One could argue

I have now been loaned by the hospital a nebuliser Medix AC 4000 and got the prescription for the drugs to go in it. Saw my consultant Monday and he said hospital

Review and Spirometry Test.
Tomorrow I have a review and spirometry test following the change in my inhalers from Seretide 125, Ipratropium and Ventolin to just Ipratropium and Symbicort. I just hope that I’m not asked what effect the change has had on me, because with my failing memory I can’t remember how I felt before, to be

Two Inhalers
Hi, I have been diagnosed with COPD. I have been given two inhalers. Salbutamol 100mcg and Ipratropium 20mcg. Why two? and should I use them at the same time?

Question for those on flecainide who also use asthma pumps
Is anyone who is taking flecainide to control a-fib also using an asthma pump? Specifically I am looking for people using a beta agonist (salbutomol)? Have you experienced any difference in your asthma pre flecainide compared to post flecainide? I am Ipratropium Bromide (brand is ipvent) and find it

Report came through..
Hi Everybody!! Hope you are enjoying the weekend. The Report was so complex that the GP said he'd have to research the answers :))) So I wrote an email to the respiratory clinic because I noticed my asthma has gone up to severe. That is because of the dyspnea, shortness of breath. It should improve

Thank you all for replying to my post re Eklira Genuair
It's obviously not for everyone and doesn't seem to be doing much for me. I think I'll stick to the nebulised ipratropium which does help. I read somewhere (probably on here), that some paramedics, as part of their training did a cross-country run, then ran up and down flights of stairs and then had

Progression or What?
Hello Everybody, I really don't know where else to turn, so I'm hoping someone here can help. I have severe COPD (bronchitis with asthma overlay). I have managed to reach the ripe old age of 71 - hoping to make 72! For the past 2 months I have noticed that I'm becoming steadily weaker and more breathless

Asthma Attack 'n' Back (to A&E)
Had hockey trials tonight so I was grafting hard at the ice rink this evening. I was worried -- without good reason -- that by telling the coaches that I have moderate-severe asthma I would look like I'm making excuses (I'm not that great at ice hockey) so I said nothing and pushed. I used my inhaler

Hello Everybody, I wondered if anybody else has been prescribed this quite new drug which is marketed as Anoro Ellipta and if anybody finds it more effective than what they were using. In my case Ipratropium. I'm not too sure about it and I would be so grateful if anyone has any feedback. I think it
