Hi i have several health problems including ashma from childhood "im now nearly 60" c.o.p.d. since 2009 ihave a home nebuliser which i have to use up to 4 times a day ,so first thing when i wake up i have to take my nebs saline first followed by ventolin and ipratropium .i used to be on symbicort 400 twice a day and symbicort 200 as needed with my ventoline acuhale recently my dr. took me of my symbicort and put me on fostair two puffs twice a day the trouble is my breathing has got worse . Im also taking uniphylin and 6 mucadine tabs a day i would like to know what other people think should i ask to be put back on symbicort or keep trying with the fostair

Go back to Dr. I was given Fostair but am allergic to an ingredient in it. Don't use if it makes you worse

I hope this will help you I was also on symbicort 200 I was taken off this after I had a stage 1 respiratory arrest they put me on flutiform for a month I didn't get on with it so I got changed to fostair and I also found that my asthma was not as well controlled so after 2 years of changing inhalers I am now back on symbicort and feel loads better but I didn't get on with fostair maybe talk things through with your doctor I document my peak flow twice a day if I am well and more if I am not but when I got to the hospital for a check up I have found it helps the doctors to get an over all picture of what was happening

Thans for the replies i have to see my chest consultant in a few weeks so think i will ask him to put me back on the symbicort.
