I have from time to time tried various food combinations - but a few months back tried cutting out coffee grains and alcohol at the same time and felt much better after a week and dropped some weight. I have over the past week picked this up again and with similar immediate results. It has left me

still decompensated after 5 months any hope?
my partner diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis on 22.12.21. Stopped drinking that day, 5 months later eating healthy high protein low salt, doing everything he has been asked. At the start sodium was dangerously low so he couldn't take water tablets - now his sodium is back within normal levels whilst

Seeking Blacks/African American stories about fatty liver disease
Last year, nash2 was kind enough to share his story about

Baffled
I have pulled back from level 4 cirrhosis with ascites and jaundice as well as two bad bleeds and was doing well. I then developed a pregnant stomach again ( I'm 60) drumlike, tight, uncomfortable so I assumed ascites and resumed spironolactone. No effect. Had a US scan on Monday- no fluid found! Has

Hi all, My mother was diagnosed 30 years ago with Autoimmune Hepatits. She was 22 years on immunosuppressive treatment which she decided to discontinue after a talk with her doctor. Two years ago her liver enzymes were abnormal especially ALP and GGT (272, 332) weak ASMA positive and mildly abnormal

Refaxamin
Does anyone know how long it is safe to take refaxamin for, I have been taking it for two years now, I haven’t had any HE in that time, I was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis 2 years ago and went into a coma and was put forward for a transplant, but since then my liver has recommpensated

Refaxamin
I have liver cirrhosis and was considered twice for a transplant, I haven’t had any alcohol for 2 years now, but I am taking refaxamin and lactalose to stop HE which I haven’t had for a year and a half. Do you know if I have to continue with the refaxamin for the rest of my life.

A bit of good news
Morning. We'll after a few weeks of coming to terms with Stage 4 Fibrosis (compensated) at last a bit of good news as far as my T2 Diabetes is concerned. I have lost a total of 32 lbs in weight and my reading is now 39!! It was 114 when I was initially diagnosed 2 years ago. I am due another FibroScan

Jaundice
Just wondering if jaundice can happen slowly over time, as it builds up. Often hear stories of folks suddenly waking up yellow with an acute attack, but my husband is waiting transplant and although his bilirubin remains relatively stable, it is obviously persistently out of range. He had a bout of jaundice
