Hi. I'm new here. Would appreciate your input. I found this site informative. Thanks. Just got my Eligar shot 3 days ago, along with a prescription from 50 mg of casodex. Really got dizzy last night into today. Went and got some drammamine to offset the seasick feeling. Is it important to keep taking

Radiation with Chemo
I'm on lupron, docetaxel and casodex. Start my third chemo next Tuesday. Started to get bone pain in my right scapular and asked the oncologist about radiation to deal with that. He said radiation shouldn't be used with some varieties of chemo. Does anyone know why this would be?

chemo 'feeds' bone met tumors?!!: "Chemotherapy induces JAG1 expression in osteoblasts, promoting chemoresistance in bone metastases"
Does anyone have access to this article? It sounds like the chemo, Docetaxel, which my husband finished last July, may not have helped the tumors in his spine and instead were 'feeding' them?!!! http://cancerdiscovery.aacrjournals.org/content/early/2017/12/21/2159-8290.CD-RW2017-239 Targeting JAG1

Looking to be aggressive, but in the right way?
I was dx in Feb, 2016 with advanced pca with a gleason score of 8 and PSA 8.8. My left seminal vesicle was invaded, along with 2 bone mets (femur and hip), and suspected pelvic nodal involvement with two nodes being affected (both approximately one centimeter each). I began treatment March with Casodex

Reliability of PET Scan/cancer antigen tests?
I was placed on Ibrance/
Faslodex
therapy for treatment. Progress was followed by monthly cancer antigen tests. The results of the tests showed success in the therapy with levels now lower than when I was first diagnosed. I feel wonderful and healthy.

Jevtana [Cabazitaxel] & Androgen Status.
New Dutch study below. Jevtana is a taxane (as is Taxotere), & was approved by the FDA for men with CRPC in 2010. Typically, in castrate-resistant PCa [CRPC], the cancer remains androgen-sensitive & has found alternative sources. For instance, there is a potential pathway that produces DHT (dihydrotestosterone

About me
I am in Ibrance, Femara,
Faslodex
and Xgeva. In my 3rd cycle. A Dr doing a bone biopsy fractured my thigh so I had to have a hip replaced. They wanted to do 5 treatments of radiation because the ball sits on a hip joint that has cancer. I was told I wouldn't notice I had the radiation.

Belated Introduction and Bio
Hello All: I'm 67, Dx in 2-17 with stage 4 PCa, 1 bone met. In 6-16, PSA was at 10, Ratio of free T to total was 0.12, so my urologist recommended TRUS biopsy. Friends had told me it had been painful. so I researched heavily. Also, my urologist was associated with the local hospital, not a recognized

My Father's Journey / Interest in High Dose Testoserone
Hi guys, I would like to share with you the journey that we have undergone through my Father’s PCa. My Father is 78, is asymptotic and still works everyday running his business. Even way back in 2002 my Father’s PSA was 19, but biopsies were always negative as were scans. Although we can assume

Lupron and antiandrogen monotherapy to avoid castrate resistant pc and increase survival and better quality of life
When casodex fails to extend off cycle of lupron would exstandi do the same or even the older antiandrogen, nilutamide or even rechallenge with casodex after another cycle lupron This therapy keeps the testosterone intact longer and even raises it during the antiandrogen monotherapy phase thus keeping

Greetings, I haven't posted before, but have been impressed by the courage and care shown by so many of you. I was diagnosed in 2007 (yeah, ten years ago) and had a robotic prostatectomy that November - they almost got it all. Gleason 5+4=9. Since then, I have failed salvage radiation, ADT, Casodex

IMAGING TO STAGE
Finished 44 treatments over 78 days. Hormone Lupron and Casodex. Gleason 6/7 with lymph node found on 3 tesla MRI. CT guided biopsy of node positive. So Stage III. 80 Centigray to prostate external beam and 60 to lymph node. PSA was only 7-8 pre treatment. Had I not had the MRI, I would be Stage IIb.
