I am new to faslodex
Now my oncologist has decided that

may be the answer for a while. She advised against going to IV chemo (I am terrified of that!) at present as she feels my quality of life would be compromised earlier than necessary. Anyone out there on

3 years of bliss
I was put on Ibrance 125mg. with the monthly Xgeva &
Faslodex
injections. I just had my first scan after being on the Ibrance for 4 cycles & it showed the cancer is "controlled" not in remission, but controlled. Not sure what that means but will get more info when I see my Onc. next week.

I'm writing on behalf of my husband, Mike, who was diagnosed four years ago. His initial PSA was 13.5 with biopsy revealing an aggressive Gleason 9 cancer. According to his urologist, he was (approximately) stage 2A. He had a relatively successful run with Lupron for nearly three years ( which became

Newbie with questions
So glad I found this site - seems like the best source of info and ideas I have seen. So it’s time to stop lurking and start participating. I am 67, still work, was diagnosed in Nov. 2017. Gleason 4+4, metasteses to local lymph nodes, pelvis, hip and one rib. Large tumor on the prostate itself.

17 years of various treatments
Hi Y'all, Regarding my husband, I have dragged him through 17 years of various treatments--all failed. However, he is still alive and kicking after all these years and we are grateful for that. He has lived a mostly normal, unaffected life through it all. He had a laparoscopic prostatectomy done

Castrate Resistant
My husband currently is taking casodex and Lupron. He did 6 cycles of Docetaxel last Summer. If his PSA starts to rise on Casodex and Lupron does that mean his PC would be considered castrate resistant? Thanks for the info.

Hi all. My father (76 years old) is on casodex monotherapy. This is quite common theraphy in our parts of the world - they use it untill it works, than they add Lupron. He Gleason is 7 (4+3, tumor present in 10% of tissue evaluated (it was discovered during TURP procedure, stage 2b) and has been on Casodex

CRPC & Avodart [Dutasteride].
New study below. Some may recall that I'm in favor of shutting off all escape paths while on ADT - e.g. via Zytiga, Casodex, Simvastatin & Avodart. If you are closing the door, close the windows too. The conventional view is that since 5alpha-reductase converts testosterone [T] to dihtdrotestosterone

Zytiga+Zoladex instead of Taxotere
Good day everyone, Just wish to share with you this update.. I sought a second opinion on whether Taxotere was the most appropriate course of action after casodex and Zoladex which reduced PSA only to a certain level and stopped to drive it down. The second oncologist advised me to do Zytiga and

Low Testosterone Level
I'm stage 4 close to 5 years since devinci removal, lupron, casodex and xgeva, PSA under 0.02. Question - my testosterone level is "3" which sounds good but I can't get a response I understand on its relationship with PSA, etc. Can someone kindly explain the significance and hopefully good news on

I'm still going strong!
Hi everyone, I though a positive note might help. I was diagnosed Oct 2013, PSA 620. Two of 12 biopsy cores cancerous. Gleasons, 3 and 4. 4 and 4. Widespread bony metastases to spinal column, ribcage, pelvis. Smaller lesions in humerus and femur and skull. After a few weeks on Casodex, changed to Abiraterone

Eligar user
Hi. I'm new here. Would appreciate your input. I found this site informative. Thanks. Just got my Eligar shot 3 days ago, along with a prescription from 50 mg of casodex. Really got dizzy last night into today. Went and got some drammamine to offset the seasick feeling. Is it important to keep taking
