I did 30 months ADT and stopped, with MedOnc approval, last shot on 03/31/17. Didn't want PCa to go castrate resistant. So, monthly PSA went 0.1- 0.1- 0.2 - 0.5 - 1.3 and 3.3. Did a month of Casodex monotherapy and got down to 3.0 and T at 291 - up 40 from last month. Same lab. maybe an outlier.
Was braced for another PSA doubling, but will be spared an ADT reboot at least for another month. Have a MedOnc appt on Friday.
Btw - GL 7(4+3), PSA at 840 with mets to ureter lymph nodes. 15 chemos in 2015.
My best to y'all

Hi Randy, glad to hear that Cosodex is doing you some good. I tried cosodex once and it had zero impact on PSADT, but then again I was castrate resistant from Day 1.
Are you still on your supplement program (ursolic acid/ berberine/ reveratrol IIRC)? Given aggressive PSADT since you started ADT holiday what is your thinking on the effectiveness of supplements?
Everyone deserves a holiday, keep fighting and keep running and lets see how long it can last.
Yea was on them the whole time, hard to say what impact the supplements had, as I was still going like 2 1/2 times PSA results for the last 4 tests. I can only surmise that it could have gone way higher without them. But that was the strategy - let the PCa get the T back and stay Castrate Sensitive and then deprive them again. We see at what PSA level MedOnc wants to restart ADT. A year without Lupron and feelin alright.
As you are learning, prostate cancer inevitably becomes castration resistant whether you are on ADT or not. It's just part of the natural evolution of the cancer. There is some evidence that continuous works better than intermittent when mets are limited to the pelvic area. In a subgroup analysis, they found that among men who had no metastatic spread beyond the spine, pelvis, and lymph nodes, median overall survival was 5.2 years for those treated with intermittent therapy and 7.1 years for those treated with continuous therapy.
Yes, MO talked about both and we'll save that for a future course of action. He okay-ed a 150mg/day of Casodex and will do monthly PSAs to see the effect. I still would rather do chemos again and I told him so.
Mix it with PCSPES and finasteride and you will really see it drop. Then you do the drugs every other month while staying with the PCSPES like I do. It works.
