Nilotinib/Tasigna revisited for treatment of Ataxias.
5 months ago a poster from Korea came on here and mentioned this drug. At the time I did not realize the drug had been tested for patients with Parkinson's so it crossed my radar and I moved on, but today as part of my review of drugs currently in the pipeline I came back and what I found is very impressive

A Neurologist is Asking YOUR Help to do a Study On a DRUG that Extends the QUALITY Of LIFE and CAN Restore LOST FUNCTIONS to Those With PSP
What I’m going to detail is no joke. There is a Neurologist, a Dr. Johan Samanta, who is willing to go beyond what any other doctor has offered or suggested in order to force other doctors all over the world to prescribe the drug Tasigna. This is a drug that has shown it can restore lost abilities, depending

Everyone reads SoPD; Radotinib 3.3 times more in the brain than Nilotinib
https://scienceofparkinsons.com/2018/06/17/radotinib/ But as Karen Rafael (Member of Parkinson's Research Interest Group (on Facebook)) "Don't you just love it when Simon has so much exciting news to share??!! One drug in clinical trials, another likely to head that way."

Vitamin D
I see there's some kind of interaction suggested that says
erlotinib
perhaps works better if your vitamin D level is good. I've yet to speak to an oncologist about this matter, but wondered if any of you out there have any vitamin D experiences? This all seems like a good thing to me. Neil

Cocktails anybody?
So just musing today . . . The number of molecules that are currently in clinical trial or close to clinical trial that work at the root problem of many neurodegenerative disorders (protein aggregation) is growing day by day. I have to believe that in the coming years doctors will begin to discover

NILOTINIB: Please Share Your Experience if you are taking
I realize this question has been posted before but not recently. Would be very helpful to get input from those out there with any first hand experience with this drug. There are a host of new ASN drugs going into trials - insight from those would be so valuable.

Isn't this the most dramatic trial so far?
I haven't seen a reference to it on this site. Does anyone know if this has been discussed? When I fist came across this, I was very excited, thought about exploring a 'buy group' like what was done with Nilotinib, but then because I have PD, I forgot to pursue it (ha,) but was reviewing bookmarks

Personal update: Here comes clinical trial #2!
It is combining Tarceva (
erlotinib
) and Mekinist (trametinib), a MEK inhibitor, and could be a good choice for my current unusual mutation status of having both EGFR and BRAF. I am incredibly impressed with Dr. Yu and with MSKCC.

Interest in Nilotinib (Tasigna by Novartis)
I plan to start taking Tasigna next week. If there are others who are currently taking this drug or considering doing so (for Parkinson's), I would appreciate very much hearing from you. frank.mundo@gmail.com.
