Had in injections and
epidural
, hysterectomy, hemmorhoids, rectal surgery for fissure. All of this was suppose to cure problem---nothing helped. On top of everything I have neurogenic bowel, so have to disimpact, which sets nerve off even worse. I feel suicidal at times!

The long labour story....
We decided at this point, the most sensible course was to accept an
epidural
if only to get enough energy together to get her out.

The specialist gave me an

L4 & 5 Disc protrusion and sciatic nerve pain
I was told that surgery isn't an option for me and I opted for
epidural
steroid injections.. what pain meds would help? I dont wish to take anything with APAP as I have been on Norco for the last 4 yrs and am worried about liver damage. What has helped the best?

MRI results show something different now
Consultant says that i have some disc bulging at L4/L5 which as inflamed the nerve so need a couple of injections of steroid and
epidural
to help reduce the nerve and hopefully stop the pain.

Is it the meds or something else?
I saw her again after the MRI and she said that fortunately where I had the op everything looks fine but I need a cervical
epidural
injection for pain management and hopefully after this I'll be able to gradually reduce my morphine, I'm awaiting a date for this injection to be done.

Good news, I had the epidural on Monday for a prolapsed disc and I am almost pain free both RA and my back....
I just want to thank everyone who responded to my post regarding taking warfarin and other medications, and having to stop warfarin and have clexane injections which I did myself for 3 days and 2 days after the
epidural
. I am on anti-tnf and other pain relief.

L5/S1 microdiscectomy
I have had physio, acupuncture,
epidural
steroid injection and a nerve root injection as well as all of the usual pain and anti-convulsants/anti-depression medications for nerve pain and nothing has worked. I also took up Pilates and swimming until I became unable to leave the house.

Clexane injection this morning
Hi, I have RA amongst other things and I need to give myself a clexane injection before 9am for the next three days so that I can have an
epidural
on Monday morning. I have a second blood clot and no-one can explain the reason why.

Anesthetist say's 'with those lungs general anesthetic is not an option' at pre-op meeting this morning
But it seems as though a type of
epidural
will do the job if I'm taken off warfarin for around 5 days before operation to remove Abscess on Bum region. Oucha :O Of course this increases the risk of another DVT but its the only way to move forward and get back on the transplant list.

A GRANNY'S PP EXPERIENCE - supporting your daughter (posted on behalf of my mother who was by my side throughout)
The birth of our little granddaughter was at forty-one weeks, induced and by
epidural
, and all went well. With great excitement, happy anticipation and love we travelled to London to meet her. A joyous time indeed, all was wonderful.

New on here. So hello for starters ......
And the fact I had an
epidural
with my son could be the problem. But was not offered any real solutions. I seem to constantly have a headache which for about 12 days a month spirals out of control and into a migraine.

The birth of cheeky Emily :-)
Eventually, I begged for an
epidural
as I couldn't take the pain anymore, by which point it was 6 o'clock at night but it turned out that I was fully dilated anyway!!! I was moved to a different room for the
epidural
but it was too late.

Sorry I havent been in touch... me and baby are now both at home and doing ok, thank God!
My placenta was stuck up high, so I then had to have an
epidural
and had manual removal of placenta. That took about 2 hours. So that was my labour story. I am so relieved now that we are home and baby is getting better. She lost weight those first days while we were in hospital.

Finally here!!!
I then had pethadine just so I could rest, eventually the next morning they gave me some more jollop and my
epidural
, absolute godsend as I then was not in pain. After 6 hours I did dilate to 8cm and the doctor then panicked as his heart rate was dropping.
