After loosing my grandfather and mother to liver disease sadly they were heavy drinkers but I never have been neither has my sister but we both have chronic cirrhosis. My decision on Radiotherapy -v- Prostatectomy
I hope this story might be useful to others. I'm based in the UK and had a PSA of 12.7 from a test in June 2023. That led to an MRI in August with a PI-RADS of 5 with irregularity on the front of the prostate. I eventually had a biopsy at the end of September after 3 cancellations (this was through the

The devil's dilemma
Between a rock and a hard place I am not sure if this topic has been discussed here before but it’s extremely frustrating to me since I don’t understand which way to go Very very interesting video. In a nut shell, the video discussion is about the introduction of NEPC and progression from HS to

PSA Risen in Last 6 months
Have been on here a week ago, explaining that my husband (who was diagnosed 10years ago) has now been diagnosed with Gastroporesis, so not eating much due to constant nausea and vomiting. We are due to see his Urologist in 2 weeks time, so had the dreaded PSA blood test. It had been almost undetectable

After bicalutimide and a high testosterone level is pre treatment T just guess work?
Just turning to fellow travellers on our various journeys for some input/advice/ thoughts as I make a decision on how far to push to the SOC for my high risk G9, given my oncologist is saying 15 months adjuvant (I am nervous of anything less than 18 months) is enough given my co morbidities, age at 73

Divergent second opinion
My husband was recently diagnosed with PCa with 6-7 mets to the bones as seen on the PSMA Pet scan (see profile for details), The first MO we met at an NCCN center recommended triplet therapy. He has started Firmagon + Darulotomide with Docetaxel planned in the coming weeks. We also got a second opinion

Iron infusion error.
Hi all, Be extremely alert if you ever have to have an iron infusion as misplacement of the cannula can have severe consequences. In my case the needle didn’t fully enter the vein so the fluid dispersed around the tissue resulting in permanent staining which has made me look like an orangutan. Only

New possible treatment being researched
Just read an interesting article about some research at Trent University that says there's hope for a new PCa treatment. It's a naturally occurring molecule called carnosine and seems to indicate much fewer side effects. As I've written before, I think ADT is too harsh and takes away too much, so I

Update on Head/neck pressure post from a few days ago
I have a previous post discussing this but as a quick recap - for some reason, after about 2.5 years of being on a steady dose, I suddenly felt unwell and v overmedicated on holiday about 8 weeks ago. I dropped my dose by 5, then another 5mcg and felt fine about from about two weeks afterwards until

Foot Cramps
Can anyone suggest anything I can take for foot cramps. I am currently taking 600mg pregablin, ramipril, hrt, zapain and naproxen aswell as iron, calcium and magnesium. The cramps are becoming more and more frequent and my Gp said to eat bananas and rub magnesium into my feet. Last night was unbearable

How My Phobia of the Dark Helped Me Treat My OCD
I used to be afraid to leave the comfort of my bed nighttime for a fear of being attacked by supernatural beings. This was ridiculous. I prided myself in having a scientific mind. How could I be afraid of ghosts nighttime when I walked out of my comfort zone? I was pretty sure that ghosts didn’t exist

Hey there 👋 I'm just wondering if anyone has had a negative experience with zoladex? I am due to have my 4th injection next week, was supposed to be yesterday but appointment got cancelled. I'm also on Estradot patches and utrogestan tablets. I've never felt so shit in all my life and the only thing

New Developments in My Husband's PCA Journey
Hello, I wanted to provide an update on my husband's progression and, hopefully, some of you may have some knowledge to share or have a similar profile. His psa has risen from <0.04 since RP for Stage 3b to 0.06 in 9/23. A recheck a week later showed a rise to 0.1. This was followed by a drop to <.04

Those who had RP and T3b with no ADT/SRT yet, how are you doing and when was your RP?

Blood test time - still no better
Hello I'm posting again to get views on my latest blood tests, although I think it's probably same as last time. I just don't get anywhere with my doctor. Last time some of you were saying that I possibly had poor conversion and I think my results this time are showing similar sort of numbers. My doctor

Controversial query re causality of PLMD
Most of you are RLS sufferers, but my question is more about PLMD, which is treated with similar medications in Western medicine protocols but is not the same condition (Eastern medicines treats them differently). Anyway, to the degree anyone knows, it is obvious that PLMD can cause depression and anxiety

PSA suppression
My PSA lows tend to be around 3.3, and it occurs to me that some might think it odd that I don't drive it lower. I think it is very common for men on ADT to draw too much comfort from a significant PSA reduction, if not a near-zero PSA. I have witnessed men misinterpret a dramatic drop in PSA as
