what now failed R223
I have now made a Formal NHS Complaint and with the help of the senior partner at the GP practice got an appointment on the 20th June with a colorectal nurse who has prescribed rectal
enema
twice a day, can anyone who is having these enemas tell what to expect and their experience.

Barrigel is now preferred over "SpaceOAR" gel?
The doctor explained the procedure needs no prep (maybe an
enema
of the lower bowel) and he anesthetizes the insertion region while administering laughing gas. Takes about 30 minutes and I can drive myself home. I liked the doctor, had detailed answers for all of my questions.

Enemas
It’s time for the big guns: I managed to find my trusty
enema
bag and 4 enemas later I feel so much better. In fact I feel great 😊. Despite warnings that they’re not ideal regularly, I feel that with such compromised motility, I’m probably going to make them regular if not frequent.

NPO from mid-night,
enema
at the hospital. A little “hung over” from the drugs today, but the worst part was no coffee or breakfast yesterday morning. I have no pain or discomfort from the procedure and I am taking the Dr. at his word that he did something 😊 !

ongoing chronic constipation.. ‘opioid bowel & interstitial cystitis… test results!
following months of waiting I eventually paid to see a private bowel surgeon. Worth every penny. She organised tests through NHS. Won’t bore with details- but I have a dysfunctional opioid bowel ( due to severe back problems). A large rectocele & possibly a cystocele I’m having a transit study…

Withholding, pain and severe difficulty with oral medication
Ended up having an
enema
at the hospital with no pain relief last week due to withholding for 11 days - she consented but didn't really understand what was going to happen and was severely distressed, trying to run away from the sensations in her own body.

Divver? IBS? Something more sinister?
I decided if I took an
enema
(Fleet) things would get cleared out and I would not feel this blocked up feeling. So I did. The result was something that's never happened. Huge pains, lots of stuff coming out, all soft. Not pencil thin, but nothing wide. (sorry). Then tons of urinating.

update from Ruffabug (End of life plan)
A big thank you to those who kindly replied to my post of a couple weeks ago entitled HELP PLEASE TO REDUCE DOSE OF NEUPRO .To remind you I have terminal cancer with roughly six to nine months life expectancy. After reading your replies I decided not to try to reduce the Dopamine Agonist Receptor drugs

Why am I afraid to go to the bathroom?
I sometimes resort (too often lately) to an
enema
…not a whole
enema
- but I squirt a little when I’m sitting there in the hopes it will soften at least part of it…sometimes it helps just a little.

fed up
However my constipation is as bad as ever only relieved by taking an
enema
each morning. Then I seem to have wind the rest of the day and feel uncomfortable.

care options for H.E and decompensated cirrhosis
Hey, hoping for some advice on care options for someone suffering with cirrhosis and H.E My dad was diagnosed this January, but clearly quite late on - he has since had 4 hospital admissions due to severe (stage 3) H.E and one time he went into coma (stage 4). This latest admission lasted 2 weeks

I feel like I’m dying.
After my first test today (anorecora manometry)…to see how my muscles are preventing me from pushing what’s inside to me - I got home and was hoping that I would not have the urge to go..but I did, when I tried, I got stuck as usual, and after TWO enemas - I’m finished. I feel like I’m dying …the only

Continuous constipation Dr's unwilling to help 😭
Hi all, I'm hoping someone can offer some kind of help. My 4 nearly 5(dec) son has suffered with constipation all his life, he didn't have a first poo until nearly 30hrs after he was born. The main problems he suffers is his stomach doesn't seem to push anything through. So he'll eat anything bloat massively
