My husband has just started ambulatory oxygen for emphysema. Can anyone recommend a better carrying bag, he doesn't want one on wheels.
He is still getting used to the idea he needs oxygen so I am trying to make it as convenient as possible. Thankyou

Flying with Bollous Emphysema.
I have had the good news, i can fly with my bollous
emphysema
stage 1 with no medication required. I don't need a fit to fly test as my fev1 is very good. He said i am at a slighter higher risk of a collapse lung due to my bollous
emphysema
but no more a risk than anyone else.

My father who is 81 has just been diagnosed with hyper inflated lung. He has been prescribed antibiotics and a further check-up.
I have read it could be caused by cystic fibrosis or
emphysema
? He had a chest Xray at the hospital and test with the GP. What do you think the likely causes are of hyper-inflated lung, and why has he been prescribed a month's supply of antibiotics which he has to take before the nurse sees him?

Breathless but what's the cause?
I have asthma and sarcoidosis in both lungs and slight showing of
emphysema
. All these seem to be stable at the moment, but I am getting very breathless even when walking from one room to another. I am in pain from Rheumatoid arthritis at present.

My fev1 was 57 and I was diagnosed with moderate emphysema in May. My ankles and feet have been swelling lately. Is this a symptom of copd?

My consultant just informed me that I had 'EXTENSIVE' Emphysema. What does that mean - exactly?

I was diagnosed with moderate emphysema (57) and I am 68 year old. I was told by the Pulmonologist to exercise 30 minutes a day,
eat healthy, take Spiriva daily and use albuterol as needed. Do any of you use Spiriva? How do I know if I'm having an exacerbation?

I'm still here.
As you know, I had a specialist doc tell me recently I was all clear from
emphysema
, so I returned to work in China. Back on the horse so to speak.

Anyone with bronchiectasis on prophylactic antibiotics.
I was diagnosed with
emphysema
and bronchiectasis 18 months ago, my consultant suggested prophylactic antibiotics but at the time I didn't think I was ready for that mainly because what happens when your body gets used to them and no longer work.

Profits, death and disease: big tobacco’s business model
“Cigarette smoking is the most important of the causes of chronic bronchitis in the United States, and increases the risk of dying from chronic bronchitis and
