Eligard

I will start treatment next week with Eligard and abiraterone+prednisone. Should I also start chemotherapy with docetaxel? And/or should I also start RT for the prostate and the 4 spots in the bones? Would proton therapy be advisable? I will be very grateful for any input.

baseline psa was1316 with a elevated alkaline phosphatase of 270 12/2021 , on 01/13/2021 my psa had risen to 1665 to avoid a further psa spike I was given a loading dose of 240 mg of degarelix followed by 80 mg every 28 days for 18months then for 3 mouths this last summer a three month dose of Eligard

But with Lupron and Eligard, it can be given every one, three or six months. If I remember correctly, I don't think the six month Lupron shot was any bigger than the one month shot. So why does one last so much longer than the other?

Treated with IMRT radiation + Eligard + Abiraterone. PSA undetectable. Stopped Abiraterone due liver that hates it (liver is ok). Will try Nubeqa, and may switch to Orgovyx after Eligard runs out in December.

I have been on Eligard for two months. Prior to starting ADT my Triglycerides were 100 (May 2023). After only two months of Eligard they are thru the roof (495). Since I have metastatic PC they tell me that I will be on ADT for life.

I chose monthly Eligard. The Urology office made a mistake and came in with a 3-month dose. When I told the nurse I had communicated my 1-month preference prior, she left the room. The Dr. came in, eyeballed the dosage, removed 2/3 and I received it.

My question is what are the side-effects of Orgovyx reported compared to Lupron or Eligard? TIA

On September 27 I had my first 6-month injection of Eligard. And finally on October 12 was able to start on Erleada. The delay in Erleada was due to cost and my ability to pay for it. Fortunately the manufacturer had a program to provide it for a year.

He’s been having Eligard stomach infusions and Xtandi prescription daily along with taking Calcium prescription ….. he did have 5 intense rounds of Radiation on his upper spine, C 1 - C2 - C-3 and one shoulder area ….. my question is, he had a repeat of both of the Nuclear Bone Scans - just like 2 weeks

I have been on Xtandi/Eligard now for about 5 months. At a psa of around 1.9 last March psma pet picked up 3 nodules in my lungs. All less than a cm. I am hormone sensitive and my current psa is undetectable. This July I had a ct scan of chest/abdomen/pelvis.

as a possibility, so Monday i made the painful decision to end my 'vacation' from ADT. my Testosterone went up from 13 to 16 during that time. i was so worried that we would not be able to get a handle on the rising PSA if we let it go any higher that i let them give me another lethal injection of Eligard

Also , does the Firmagon or Eligard affect blood pressure ? .

The RO is recommending a 30 day treatment of Casodex hormone therapy concurrent with PET scan scheduling, followed by injections every 4 months of Eligard for 2 years or so. Radiation to follow in about 6 months (5 weeks, 25 sessions at a rate of 68 gray).

I went to my urologist last week and he was going to give me a 9-month shot of Eligard even though I had not requested it.

I went straight on Casodex and 2 years of Eligard shots. 9 rounds of Docetaxel, kidney stents and VMAT radiation therapy. Following my last PET scan, no new growth was evident and my PSA has been under 1.0 for the last 18 months.

Meanwhile, the doc had already scheduled me for an appointment on September 14 to receive a 6-month dose of Eligard. Not sure what to do now. Another PSA test? Another CT scan? I mean, why would I subject myself to the Eligard if the scan shows no prostate cancer? Am I missing something?

He said sure not problem but my pharmacist called and said my prescription for Eligard was ready. So my questions are: - is lupron available in 6 month injections? - what’s the difference between lupron and Eligard?
