I have what ????????????????
They gave me a shot that stung like hell called
Eligard
and told me I need to start chemo or some kind of pills real soon. Men in Lewistown don't get this stuff. So now what? The doctor in Billings told me about this site so here I am.

What are your thoughts on Pain Control
Anyway, treatment: ADT ,
Eligard
, Zytiga 1000mg per day, and 5mg Prednisone. Anyway, at PSA 300 I had minimal pain. A few months later various aches and pains. At 6 months after starting ADT I was in significant pain, and chomping down 8 Tylenols per day.

With Supplements, ADT in Prostate Cancer of Little Threat to Bone Density - "Ca & Vit D supplementation alone may suffice" . . . Really????
[/i] Think:
Eligard
, Jevtana, & Taxotere. Sort of the research result you (Sanofi-Canada) would hope for, if you sell multiple ADT drugs, but none for osteoporosis; i.e., keep taking those ADT drugs and a small dose of Ca + D3 will be all you need for your bone health.

PSA Time to Nadir
I'm 54, had RARP and IMRT, and am on the
Eligard
/Abiraterone regimen. My PSA has decreased from 340 to 0.63 over eight months. I've noticed that some people tend to have an immediate drop. Does the time to nadir indicate how long you will stay at this point before failure?

Short update
Started
Eligard
and Zytiga with 3m PSA <.02 and T <1. We are starting the radiation this week, 4months and a week post op, as opposed to 3months which I noted in my first post. So far doing ok, hot flashes and fatigue of course, and hoping to work through the radiation treatment.

When to do a CT scan?
Here’s the recent background ( also see profile): Back in November I posted that my husband had completed 6 rounds of chemo (docetaxel)—concurrently he was receiving
Eligard
injections every 3 mos. and his PSA #s were coming down incrementally.

First Anniversary and is vitamin E good for hot flashes?
Basically my first anniversary with PCa and had another 3 month
Eligard
shot today. PSA still <.1 and only major complaints beside fatigue and brain fog are hot flashes. The MO and I agree that less meds are better and he said that vitamin E in doses less than 800 mg may help the hot flashes.

Latest Axumin scan after 6 Taxotere sessions to rechallenge the PCa after I had 15 in 2015
The left to 7mm with minimal uptake and the right is normal💙✌️ Plan is to continue
Eligard
and monitor the PSA. She also offered to do biomarker test. As I did in 2015, I fasted two days prior to each and brought Chandon to the last chemo session. Fight on Brothers Mahalo Randy

Break after only 12 months of Eligard.
My oncologist then started me on an 18-month
Eligard
treatment. After the 4th of 3-month injections (my PSA had dropped to zero) the oncologist said that I didn't need any more. That was in December (I was due for number 5 last month).

QOL during salvage?
About to do 1 month Casodex, 6 months
Eligard
and, 8 weeks radiation. How is QOL during this? I know libido will be gone. I don’t expect that I will actually miss any work, but like many here I have a busy job.

Is monthly Lupron better than 6 month Eligard?
Now on my second round of hormone therapy, after a 24 month vacation, had a 4 month shot of
Eligard
followed by a 6 month shot of
Eligard
. Two months into the recent shot my psa has doubled to 1.16. Could the 6 month shot have failed?

Am otherwise pretty healthy, started Casodex (for flare),
Eligard
, and Zytiga, and RT to commence in another 6 weeks or so. The
Eligard
and Zytiga recommended for 2 years. Has anyone with a similar picture added a third drug for the 2 years?

Stopping Xtandi due to Neuropathy
He said let’s monitor my PSA with just
Eligard
for a while and said with the IMRT I had in 4/2020 I may be ok for a while. My PSA has been < 0.1 and Testosterone undetectable.

Making a decision!
Start Casodex tablets (50 mg once a day x 28 days) and take injection
Eligard
(45 mg) AFTER prostate MRI and completing laboratory blood tests. Thanks to all who have commented thus far....especially with the Kaiser folk.
