Achilles pain

I’m a long hauler after diagnosis in 2018. Presented at Dx with advanced PC.

I’ve been plagued with tremendous ankle and Achilles tension and pain. I’m wondering if it’s a side effect of the ADT...Eligard/Zytiga/Prednisone

Anyone else experiencing this.

Yea ... im on adt ( Lupron Xtandi Zometa ) too and the loss of T seems to make my muscles very stiff and repetitive motions that might have brought on tendinitis type pain earlier in life seem to happen very rapidly now. Things like playing VR games , using my iPad or iPhone, even the remote tv control..... the muscles that control those actions get extremely painful , even with minimal repetitive use. IMHO it’s not surprising this is happening to you. Opiate pain meds help a lot and changing up things .... using a different hand / arm in my case, helps rest the offending muscles.

Hello, I have Achilles tendinitis and like you, I’m wondering if it’s from the ADT. My Achilles have been stiff in the morning for about a year and I’ve been on ADT for about two years. The stiffness would go away after a few minutes in the morning, but in the last two months i have extreme soreness after golfing or exercise walking. I’m doing some PT now on my Achilles and it’s helping. I ice them after exercising and golfing and then use electronic stimulation which has really helped. Good luck!

Ok, I’m not alone..have you asked about upping your prednisone dosage...?

It’s interesting that my stiffness has started up like yours after 2 yrs in

I’m taking Eligard and Darolutamide so I’m not on prednisone. I’m blaming the soreness on Eligard, but it may be that I’m getting older. I’m 60 and my wife is having the same problem at age 52.

Btw, you can buy an estim for about 60 bucks or so. It’s about the size of an old transistor radio and works really well.

What is it?

Search for EMS 7500 on Amazon and you’ll see the model I have. Also, you can use google to get suggestions on where to put the pads on your lower leg.

We inherit traits that are rapidly intensified on us with pc treatments. I too am 60. They don’t call it old mans disease for nothing. Ouch ! We’ve arrived .😂

I think so!

It looks like the latest publication of the Zytiga drug "label" can be found here:

There is also at least one previous posting on HealthUnlocked that contains men's experience with the name brand and the generic here:

Hell yes! It is. I’ve been on adt no t six years now. Increasing joint depletion and pain as we speak . Welcome to the golden years my friend. Not on pain

Meds yet. Many others are . I’m on prolia to help osteopenia but it’s not helping joints tendons or ligaments. Everything that keeps the ship together. Hot and cold on your legs and feet will feel good and help circulation. A foot massage often could be miraculous. Good luck 👍

Joint pain hit me after about a year on ADT. Mostly knee and ankle pain after playing tennis or running. It weakens the muscles and eventually the ligaments. Toward the end of ADT, I tore a rotator cuff and had a labral tear— a two-for-one in the right shoulder. I was stupidly over-doing it, so back off activities if it doesn’t feel right.

I’ve done the same. Overdid clearing trees and labor to the detriment of my joints. Don’t do as I’ve done kids.

I’m not opening this discussion because I’m in a bit of pain...what I’m worried about is a joint tear especially involving the Achilles....I’d be suicidal...I admit I sometimes feel above such horrors.

I agree with timotur, this seems to be a case of of slipping winches and fraying cables that I’m going to heed more.

I’ve had an interest in the fibrin/plastin dichotomy re/ health and disease that I’ll look into...generally speaking ,fibrinogen bad, plasminogen good.

Suicide solves nothing. My theory is that after sarcopenia is osteopenia and in between the tendons ligaments and joints follow suit . I hope that you can relive that injury ! 🙏
