Successful Cardioversion
Hi. Everyone! Had my Cardioversion on Weds after being in A&E the previous Thursday & Friday with fast HR and dizzy spells! I’m ok for the time being, very painless procedure and wouldn’t be scared of having it done again! Have to continue my medication , my resting HR is now low, between 43-50 the

Pain relief failing - Help!
Hi, I’m new here but it’s been really interesting to read everyone’s posts and know I’m not going through it alone. I had a laparoscopy last June where they excised endometriosis from my pouch of Douglas. I was in agony before, so much so I had to take weeks off work (I’m a primary school teacher)

Can you have thyroiditis with normal lab results?
I started getting a very painful front of neck about 7 weeks ago that was affecting one side but now has spread to the other side. It's not particularly visable but feels swollen to touch. During this time I started with palpitations that seem to get worse during the night and affect my sleep. I have

Can persistent af be "cured" with one cardioversion??
Hi, 50 year old female with persistent AFib, diagnosed in July 2022. Seen cardiologist last week, I'm for cardioversion in next few weeks and he has said he will see me again early next year and suggests he will take me off meds and that's me done. I have been looking at other posts online and it suggests

I started a post 16 days ago about exercise before bed and Afib, see https://healthunlocked.com/afassociation/posts/148706621/have-any-vagal-afibbers-tried-exercising-before-bed I thought I would start a new post here so more people may benefit from my observations which are very interesting. Below

Interatrial Septal Aneurysm (ASA) - anyone with knowledge or experience of this condition or relevant recent research?
I am 75, with 2 years of paroxysmal AF, and looking again at my first Echocardiogram I had in May 2022, I notice there was a finding of an "interatrial septal aneurysm". This finding was mentioned almost in passing, without further emphasis or mention in the Report's Conclusions. However, while such

Newbie Finding Reassurance
I literally stumbled on this forum today whilst trying to breathe through yet another round of ectopic beats. I have had daily ectopics for 3.5 months now and yes, have been to AE and had paramedics out several times. GP surgery has been very slow in diagnosis and help - but I have managed to arrange

Early ablation better at preventing AF progression than drug therapy

A long post - How medication was ruining my life, not making me better! Reassurance for anyone concerned about stopping medication.
Hi ladies. A very Happy New Year to you all! I am hoping that 2023 treats you all with improved health and a wealth of happiness. I have seen a lot of posts recently appearing on my feed regarding treatments and hormones, and so I just wanted to share my recent experience of stopping all treatments.

Anti-arithmetic meds with Paxil (Paroxetine) - an anxiety med.
Was just wondering if anyone is on or has tried Flecainide or Propafenone while also taking Paxil (Paroxetine)? If so, how did it work out? Side effects or health issues or none at all? Thank you for anyone who cares to reply!

Anti-Arithmetic meds while taking Paxil (Paroxetine) - an anxiety med.
Does anyone take Paxil (Paroxetine) with Flecainide or Propafenone? Both these AFIB meds work better for vagal AFIB. Was just wondering if anyone mixed these two drugs, and if it has worked out or not? Thank you for any and all replies!

Atrial Flutter and AFib
Hello, Briefly I've had multiple Aortic/Mitral valve surgeries, with the second in 2013 I acquired Complete Heart Block, Permanent AF, Shunt, and my Pacemaker. I'm probably lucky that I've been reasonably stable over the years, other than every now and again having the PM settings altered. On Warfarin

6 month post mini maze (surgical ablation) in the U.K. All is going well, no regrets
hello you lovely lot. I thought I would give you an update as I have had my 6 month (and final eeeek) review with my mini maze surgeon Mr Hunter this morning. All has been going well, in sinus rythm since my mini maze. I had a two week heart monitor a few weeks ago, all good! I have a low burden

kardia
Hi, I had atrial flutter treated successfully by ablation 2 years ago. I still take anti-coagulants and have been told that I could now stop these. I am worried about doing this, so my doctor is suggesting monitoring with a Kardia device for a few months and if all good, then stopping. My question

Persistent Afib
Thank you all for your encouraging replies to my post yesterday. Yes unless I have something wrong with me or I over exercise my heart rate does not go above 100. The only worrying concern is the Kardia readings which consistently show a variation of between 2.5 and 6.5 squares in one reading. If you
