How long for the intense pain of an ICD install to ease?
Had my ICD installation this morning. Oh my days, it feels like I have a spear through my shoulder ( or how I imagine that would feel anyway!) Consultant said worst pain lasts a week, please tell me he exaggerated, and it won't be too bad in a few days 🤔

First post.
Warning, long post. 2 am and I have cleaned the kitchen now I can move, even folded the t towels neatly in their box. I could do more but don’t want to wake hubby. I have always loved my fitness, I was a runner and training for an Ironman when things started to go wrong. First joint replacement at

Afib and A&E - Update
Hi all, My afib came back around 3 am and it's still here after 7 h. I came to A&E, they did a chest scan and blood and I'm waiting for response. I'm psychologically destroyed by this and I fear they won't do anything because I don't have high rate, leaving me for months in this again waiting for the

recovering after ICD shock - advice about the future
I recently received a shock from my ICD at a mainline station in London and spent 2 nights in hospital. My device went off as I was in tachycardia which was 240-260 beats. My condition had been well controlled, following treatment about 8 years ago. I’ve always been an active person doing weights, cycling

Metropolo
I take 25 mg of Metropolo twice a day! I get short of breath when I do house work , my heart rate is in the 90's because I am in AFIB all the time! They are trying to control my blood pressure and pulse with this medication ! Does other people have this problem?

Woke up in Afib
I thought the cardio version last episode would have been the end to this. But nope , like clockwork I was due. I have been journaling and keep track of how I feel. I usually see a dip in HR a few days to a week before ba episode. I seem to have them every 6/8 weeks with one exception in last year of

Complications of Operations with AFIB
Just read a report stating Patients with preexisting atrial fibrillation (AF) have a 31% increased risk of death within 30 days after noncardiac surgery compared with matched patients without AF. I guess my hip operation being cancelled would have been easier to accept if this had been explained

My Gabapentin Dilemma
Help! I need some advice regarding my Gabapentin treatments. This is my first post so I hope I don’t ramble too much. I’m over 70 years old with RLS for over 30-40 years. Fortunately I don’t have RLS attacks during the day but have them almost every night after I fall asleep. On high doses of Gabapentin

24 hour monitor
My paroxysmal AF was not picked up on a 24 hour monitor. I was checked a couple of times over a 5 year timespan and told that I just had lots of ectopics. Finally, when it became more severe the GP eventually relented and booked me in for a seven day monitor whcich picked up the atrial fibrillation
