Anyone tried it and any horror stories? Iv been offered it but the only thing that's putting me off is reading people carry epipens with them? I don't want to do that. Anyway I have a appointment in 8 weeks to discuss. Thanks

I'm looking for preventative advice to minimise asthma related problems and infections.... can you help?
Hey Up...I'm a newbie and on a mission. I stumbled across this site whilst googling for help and advice and it looks mighty supportive. Basically I was diagnosed with asthma at 24 (now 52). I also have scoliosis which affects my lung capacity (which is currently at 30%) but I am a "glass half full

New injection Mepolizumab (Nucala)
Hi All, I started on the new injection today Mepolizumab (Nucala), they stopped the Omalizumab (Xolair) in March, I was lucky not to have any exacerbations while not having the jabs, so I hope this is going to give me some relief and normality back. Will have to wait and see how long this takes to kick

Omalizumab and asthma worsening
Hi I've been on xolair 2 years 4 injections every 2 weeks. For several weeks I've had worsening of my asthma symtoms which they class as unstable and the respiratory nurse who gives my injections in the hospital doesn't seem to agree. I have never coughed and it's keeping me awake, blood tests normal

Xolair
How many people here are on Xolair? I've been on it for three years now and am due to be reviewed; I was told I wouldn't be on it for longer than three years as they don't yet know the long-term implications for its use. I'm really hoping they'll let me stay on it as I'm terrified of going back to the

Is there anyone on Etanercept for RA and Omalizumab for asthma? I have been on Etanercept for about 8 years, but have had uncontrollable asthma for the last 2 years. I am on every drug the hospital can prescribe so am possibly going to start Omalizumab in the new year. It is a new drug and no one seems

Mmm, smarties :S
I eventually got to see a consultant at my local costa since moving. She agreed that I needed to be back on the Omalizumab and that my lungs were being stroppy at the mo, but said there's nothing that can be done without funding. So, my long-term Pred has been upped as my lung function was pretty awful

Different Treatment Across the UK
I was wondering (just out of curiosity really) if anyone else had moved house (particular South to North, city to country, etc. or vice versa) and experienced very different standards of treatment? I've recently moved from central London to a field 'op North... I finally got to see a consultant yesterday

How long to get a consultant?
I was wondering if anyone knew how long it was reasonable to expect to wait for a referral to a consultant? I moved from London to the middle of nowhere at the beginning of January and my old consultant and GP were really good in contacting people with the aim of a smooth/swift transfer of care, especially
