Does anyone have any experiences with ECMO removal and the chance of survival?
My significant other is coming to the point where he’s been on VV
ECMO
for too long and it is starting to cause complications. There is a chance that his heart will stop so the doctor would like someone to be at bedside with him. Once
ECMO
is removed, the hospital will not put him on it again.

Transferring because of ECMO Machine
Hello all, please wanted to ask if it is possible to move a critical ill patient on ventilator to another hospital that has
ECMO
Machine, as the hospital my husband is in doesn't have an
ECMO
Machine.

Feel helpless
Since the 23rd Jan my fiancé has been in hospital, eventually went on to
ECMO
on 1st Feb. Just feel like our world is falling apart and I don’t know what I can do. We are all fine now.

Is ECMO too soon??
My brother-in-law is 6 days in ICU (after 9 days on CPAP) My sis is taking the calls from the hospital (so hard to do) and the docs were today asking her questions relating to his suitability to fit the criteria of going to
ECMO
(which is is in a hospital 30 miles away).

Covid and on Ecmo day 26
My brother is on day 26 both ventilator and
Ecmo
. Doctor said he stable but
Ecmo
and ventilator are both set at 100% 😔. He doesn’t seem to come down any! Sometimes he drops to 80, 65 and then today back up to 100%. I’m so worried about him and about my mom.

Day 30 on ECMO and Ventilator
The days he is on
ECMO
are now making me nervous. I don’t want to lose hope but I’m getting scared. 😔 I pray and pray and pray! 🙏🧎♀️I read success stories over and over and hope that my brother will be able to share the same.

Double Lung Transplant
He was put on an
ECMO
machine and ventilator. 2 days later they put him on dyalisis. I've been visiting him daily. It's so hard to see him this way. He's not following commands therefore doctors did a CT Scan yesterday. Results came back normal.

Waking up from deep sedatives in ICU.
It was successful but in the midst of all this trauma, he was placed on dialysis and the
ECMO
machine to help strengthen his heart. It worked and they were able to remove him from it but kept him on a ventilator.

Miracles do happen 🙏🏻 Tony - Covid19: 1-0
They gave him 10hrs to live but thankfully he was eligible for
ECMO
and was put on it within 24hrs of being on the vent.

ECMO Machine
Hi, does anyone have any experiences of the
ECMO
machine. What is the process of someone being on the machine and how does the patient cope with this?

Covid-19 Update: Remdesivir US Trial Results fail to live up to expectations, or does it? It depends on what you want to believe.
In the 3 critical Covid-19 conditions I examined extremely closely: 1) supplemental oxygen, 2) ventilator, and 3)
ECMO
... it was clear that Remdesivir only significantly helped those on supplemental oxygen. CRITICALITY: What is the critical takeaway here?

Covid19- ecmo- ventilator-multiple organ failure
He stayed on
ecmo
for 33 days, his improvement started only the last week he was on
ecmo
, and also had to be put on filtration for his kidneys nearly 3 weeks ago now. He seems to always have a secondary infection, sometimes they don’t know exactly where.

Risk group for Covid?
I had to be put in an induced coma for 8 days while I was on
ECMO
(extra corporal membrane oxigenation). Took me some months to recover completely and two years later I feel fine. However, I would like to know if I am a person of risk in this Covid-19 pandemic. Thank you

Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) for pneumonia caused by coronavirus.
I live in a city that has only one major university hospital with these
ECMO
machines, so if you're lucky enough to go to a major university hospital ask them to give you
ECMO
oxygenation instead of a ventilator.

What We Did Right: Israeli Doctors Explain How They Beat the Coronavirus
In the most severe cases, some patients need so-called extracorporeal membrane oxygenation –
ECMO
– which buoys the heart and lungs.
