sinemet and mucuna pruriens
Dear Comunity I am anxious about my mother age 76. She is taking 6 tbl. of sinemet a day. I found out that Mucuna Pruriens is an option. I was able to find MP with 15% of L-Dopa. How to use it ? Thanks for helping.

has anyone ever heard of (facial/oro)

being induced by only 6 months use of L-Dopa and from such a relatively low dose?

Parkinson’s and eyes
Yesterday, I had an eye test and my vision has improved. This is great but I spent a lot of money on some new glasses last year because my vision and had declined. I have poor eyesight and wear complex lenses. Looking at the times of each eye test, last years was done first thing in the morning and

Levodopa and magnesium oxide
Based on in vtro results and a n=1 case study: "Levodopa and carbidopa are reported to be degraded by magnesium oxide (MgO), which is often used as a laxative for patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). Ascorbic acid (AsA) can stabilize levodopa and carbidopa solutions; however, the effect of AsA on

Scientists Uncover One of the Driving Forces of Alzheimer’s Disease (applicable to PD) – New Target for Treatment
Two trials focus on
dyskinesia
resulting from sustained use of generic levodopa, which is widely considered the standard of care in PD.

Levodopa and food: slows uptake but gives you more in the long run?
According to FDA prescribing information: "In healthy adults, oral administration of Rytary after a high-fat, high-calorie meal reduced Cmax approximately 21% and increased AUCinf approximately 13% for levodopa compared to administration in the fasted state. There may be a delay by 2 hours in the absorption

I saw my first neuro after over five years
I taught by taking smaller quantity of medication spread on smaller intervals of time assure a constant level of medication in the blood and prevents
dyskinesia
without affecting the results. Is anyone taking more pills at once at bigger intervals of time?

Why do I have to take levodopa so frequently?
The resulting rapid oscillations in blood levels of the drug are responsible for both on-off cycling and
dyskinesia

Any advice about weaning off of levodopa and starting amantadine.
I have developed
dyskinesia
and doctors tried reducing levodopa thinking I was getting too much but
dyskinesia
persisted.

I’m a B1er (one that has found success in B1), A few questions to others.
*** I ended up with High Blood Pressure taking TTFD. I no longer take TTFD. Based on my experience, I would not recommend TTFD. *** I’m a B1er (one that has found success in B1), A few questions to others. 1) Do you have a Boost in energy? (I do) 2) Do Mosquitoes avoid you? (Delighted) 3) Have most

Steroids to treat Parkinson's
My Neurologist admitted me into the hospital because Parkinson's had me shaking with
dyskinesia
and I had Dystonia unable to move at the same time. They gave me a steroid through an IV for 5 days and it has helped, but I feel dizzy and woozy

Beware of ultrasound treatment for Parkinson’s disease!
I should add that the clinical trial’s primary purpose was to determine whether the treatment could help to prevent
dyskinesia
. I had started experiencing very mild symptoms of such involuntary muscle twisting, and the treatment did result in the disappearance of those.

BioVie's Phase 2 Trial Assessing NE3107's Pro-motoric Activity in Parkinson's Disease is Fully Enrolled
Furthermore, in the marmoset study, NE3107 reduced the severity of levodopa induced
dyskinesia
(LID) concurrent with pro-motoric benefit and decreased neurodegeneration, preserving twice as many dopaminergic neurons compared to control.

Discovery of levodopa-induced dyskinesia-associated genes using genomic studies in patients and Drosophila behavioral analyses
Similar to the therapeutic effect of Ldopa in patients, acute Ldopa treatment restore the motor defect of Parkinsons flies, while prolonged treatments cause LID-related symptoms, such as increased yawing, freezing & abrupt acceleration of locomotives
