Multiple cardiac medications
Good morning. I hope everyone is well :). I have recently been prescribed with some new heart medication, which will take my overall intake to about 5 different medications a day. Up until recently, I was only taking one heart medication, with GTN spray as and when required. I have a previous history

Your best adjunct therapy pick
If you could only continue with just one alternative PD therapy, what would it be? (My rather gauche attempt to pick your brains and not re-invent the wheel.) For me, it's MCT oil. What about you?

Fluid restrictions ASCITES
My serum sodium is 137 mmol/L. Completely in normal range (133-146). I am taking spironolactone 300mg and furosemide 80mg. My question is how much do I need to restrict fluid intake for ascites due to cirrhosis?

I don't quite understand?
So what is being "Policed" here is natural progression? Surely it is quite natural to progress a subject as it tumbles around an educated group and when it runs out of steam, someone else will bring the group back on track with another "CLEAN" post! That is how a democracy works - well at least I and

Anti seizure tablets after brain haemorage
My wife has had a brain haemorage which after 12 months has resulted in her having some bad seizures. The Sodium Valporate anti seizure tablets she is taking now have really knocked her off her feet and she has difficulty standing up. She is changing to lacosamide in the hope that it will have less side

Possible IBS but GP doesn’t know for sure…..
Hi. I’m really stuck with what’s going on with my body and movements. At the end of March I had what I thought was a standard tummy bug, I didn’t think much of it. After 4 days of diarrhoea and not eating (even water was going through) I tried eating a plain piece of bread. Needless to say that didn’

Clonidine for hypertension
Hello, Does anyone have experience with taking clonidine for hypertension? My FWP has been experiencing fluctuating blood pressure (anything from 102/66 or lower to 180/90 or even 200/80 on occasions) and his cardiologist has been adjusting his meds but they don’t seem to be that effective. We

Second anniversary of HA and hopefully we’ll on the mend
Good reason to celebrate today as it’s two years to the day that my life was saved by those wonderful NHS folks. Suffered a Stemi / widow maker, but 4 stents got me up and running again. Luckily I live only 8 minutes away from the Leicester Glenfield Heart Unit and an ambulance was in the area. From

Triple Bypass 2 years on.
I sometimes reply to the questions and experiences of others but I don't instigate threads, so this is an exception. Two years ago today, age 64, I was in surgery for triple CABG following a heart attack and one stent in 2019, and a return of some symptoms such as pressure in upper chest and awful jaw
