Chemo failure. What next?
Was walking about reasonably well until after
docetaxel
× 2. Seemed to recover from neutropenia and sepsis. Then got chest infection. Not recovering well. My PSA on diagnosis was 821. It is now down to 3.1. Since diagnosis last September have monthly Degarelix injections. Chemo was stopped.

Castration resistance
Went through chemotherapy with
docetaxel
for 6 cycles, radiation of mets to my cervical vertebrae, ADT with Lupron of course and even a radical prostatectomy (strange this was even offered and done with my stage). I started with a PSA of 54 and joined the zero PSA club in Jan 2018.

Zytiga vs Xtandi
So my question before asking my MO, is it better to stay on Zytiga and accept the Lymphopenia for the duration until 10/2021 (which is when they stop meds and see what happens) or should I try switching to Ezalutamide or even
docetaxel
to see if my WBC's recover? Opinions please ?

Any experience cabazitaxel (Jevtana)without prednisone? Referencing preliminary report published Aug 2017.
, also a taxane, was originally used with prednisone, and that the CHARTEED trial proved
docetaxel
worked as well without prednisone.

About to start Chemotherapy
I am having EC Chemo, plus
Docetaxel
, plus herceptin and Biophosphates. I will be glad when the first session is out of the way as it is the unknown which causes the stress. I have already bought my hat! Anybody had similar treatment to me?

What’s next: Xtandi, Cabazitaxel or Lutetium-177
From the start of stage 4 diagnosis in 2018, husband did Zytiga,
Docetaxel
and then back to Zytiga along with Xgeva and Eligard. PSA went down to as much as 0.34 in Oct 2019 after 6 cycles of
Docetaxel
which he tolerated fairly well.

During this journey I have undergone

Why hasn't MO recommended Provenge? Ideas? He has extensive bone mets (is that it?)Almost no pain. Also 2 questions - clinical trial and PET
DESCRIPTION OF BARRY'S PC --- After
docetaxel
and enzalutamide failures, several consults plus our MO said Cabazitaxel is best option for husband Barry, who "failed"
docetaxel
and Xtandi. Therefore, he started Cabazitaxel last Tuesday plus Neulasta.

Hi folks, are the Metastatic Hormone Sensitive Prostate Cancer (mHSPC) patients here, which, treatments are at least ADT2, taken Docetaxel?
Although, the CHAARTED trial has determined - adding
Docetaxel
to ADT2 improves overall survival and prolong time to castrate resistance. A while back, I've posted adding
Docetaxel
to my treatment of Lupron and Zytiga, it seemed like a novel idea to many, is this mainstream nowadays?

Cabazitaxel vs Docetaxel
I’ve been told cabazitaxel is not as bad as
Docetaxel
, but I’m curious for those who’ve had both what would you share? Thank you in advance! - Cindy

Started treatment
It was suggested by his doctor to do hormone therapy with an LHRH analogue and evaluation in Medical Oncology to perform concomitant chemotherapy (
docetaxel
). He also started with the treatment (just one session), but had mucositis. The treatment will continue in the next week.

Xgeva experiences
I now have arrived at the
Docetaxel
stage of my cancer. Erleada, Casodex, Xtandi, Zoladex, Lupron. All have failed and my PSA is still rising. It recently went above 4. I am doing chemo for 10 sessions every three weeks. I finished the third one a week ago.

Returning B.O.
Had 6 rounds of
Docetaxel
, followed by SBRT. Since he started on the Lupron, he has had ZERO body odor. No need for deodorant, anti-bacterial soap ... nothing for 19 months. Just last week, I started to catch a wiff of BO. This week it's been much worse.

What have you learnt about Chemo?
I am about to undergo my 6th
Docetaxel
Chemo session and it's been quite a ride. I began Chemo within 6 weeks of being diagnosed with Stage 4, GS 9, PSA 50, a Bladder tumour and Pelvic Mets in late Dec 2019.

Looking for specific MO doctor recommendations, considering changing MO, consult first.
Husband has CRPC, he "failed"
docetaxel
and enzalutamide, PSA up, scans show extensive progression in bones, not in organs; little pain right now, still active. Very motivated like the rest of you....Thanks!!!!
