Is this a PSA flare caused by chemo?
My husband's PSA was 99 on 14 June and he had first
Docetaxel
infusion on 17 June. On 4 July, his PSA is 216. Is this a flare to be expected? If yes, when might we see a decline? Thanks

Seeing the < sign!
I know it’s all about stability but still after 7 months of Degarelix, 3 x Lu-177, 3 x
Docetaxel
, 20 VMAT rounds , 2 brachytherapy’s and 1 month of Apalutamide it was a good day! Feel like I should have ended that list with ‘and a partridge in a pear tree’! It’s been a mad 7 months!

Dad, 66 w/ de novo high volume castrate sensitive PC. Started on ADT
I have heard so much about
docetaxel
being beneficial in combination with ADT and feel like I have seen some people who were in worse shape who were able to do it. I’m just wondering is maybe I am mistaken/ am missing something else that would make him a poor candidate?

Swollen Legs summary, Zytiga failed, scheduled for Docetaxel
Do you think
Docetaxel
will help him and will have good response. Another more important question about his pain. He was using ibuprofen, sometime diclofenac and these two medications really gave him some pain free time.

SOC options have run out, PSMA negative, declining health - what's next?
Recovered like a champ, -Feb/Mar 2022 had 3 sessions of radiation, - Mar 2022 began
docetaxel
which was stopped after 3 sessions because PSA and alkaline phospatase were rising. -April 2022 switched to cabizitaxel and stopped after 3 sessions (7/13) for the same reason.

Added to profile
My saga continues and has become more complex. I just added to my profile. I am undergoing Docetaxol treatment while awaiting Lutetium 177 PSMA treatment. Small cell cancer seems quiet while adenocarcinoma is active. Always a balancing act with two cell lines.

Starting
Docetaxel
in 10 days. Any suggestions on minimizing side effects. Planning to use ice packs for hands and feet. Anything else? THC products for nausea? Thanks

Benefit of "triplet therapy" confirmed with enzalutamide too
An updated, subgroup analysis of the ENZAMET trial among newly diagnosed men with metastases confirms the triplet of ADT+enzalutamide+
docetaxel
increases survival. 5 year survival was 60% for the triplet vs 52% for ADT+
docetaxel

Enough is Enough - Alicia Morgans, MD, MPH,
Why, then, have we as a field failed approximately half of our patients and not combined ADT with an ARSI or
docetaxel
(or a combination of both) in treating their mHSPC?

Kadcyla -- what is it like?
When I had the
Docetaxel
last year there was no way I could have undertaken an arduous trip. So, what kind of side effects can I expect? Would I be mad to go? Will I feel ill all the time? Also I am as bald as a coot now after the WBRT - sniff - is there no hope that the hair will regrow???

Good News-But Do I Belong Here?
Early
docetaxel
probably didn't help any (as has been shown by now in STAMPEDE) but the hope is that the rest of it was worth it. Early treatment this aggressive in my type situation has not been proven efficacious either but my hunch (shared by my MO) is that could be.

Boring! (In a good way.)
Spouse21 ended his 10th
docetaxel
infusion over two years ago, which is a very decent result that a lot of men don't experience. Who knows why? We sure don't. He's on the Lupron life sentence and gets an Xgeva shot every three months. Both suck.

Thirty-five percent of patients had not received prior
docetaxel
, and 45% of

-pretreated patients had not received prior cabazitaxel -- treatments proven to improve survival in the mCRPC setting.
