With and without contrast

2 weeks ago I completed my six treatments of Docetaxel. I am to go for both a CT scan and a nuclear bone scan next week as a follow up. Originally I was found to have multiple metastasis on my upper skeletal frame, therefore the Docetaxel. Theses were not seen on any CT scan that i took prior to traement, but were found by PET Scan. I am scheduling another PET in about a month.

I am told that next week's CT scan will be without contrast since there is a shortage. I am wondering how effective this scan will be if no contrast is used . I am told that the contrast helps more with viewing my organs which are clean so far. Any knowledgeable feedback is appreciated

What you say is true. Contrast isn't needed for bone.

Interesting, I have a bone scan scheduled towards the end of June.

Tall_Allen answered your question. I start chemo (Docetaxel) in 10 days. Any comments/suggestions to pass along, esp. anything to make things easier? Thanks
