Why do I still have acne?
Hello, I am new to this forum, but I really hope I can find some answers! I have always had spots - the deep painful kind that don't usually come to a head, but about a year ago I had a massive flare up. I had little bumps all over my face, as well as many deep cysts/spots. It really impacted my self-confidence

Feeling foolish and despondent
Morning everyone, Hope you all well. I’d be grateful if you knowledgeable people would be kind enough to educate me. I’ve just come back from the GPs and had my vitamin B12 injection. I had a discussion with the practitioner regarding my poor tolerance of the ferrous fumarate that’s been prescribed

Raised Heart rate
Hi All. As mentioned in previous posts I have been on Digoxin & Eliquis Apixaban since the 11th August. The Digoxin seems to be doing a good job of reducing heart rate at rest and when I go for my daily walks. I do not think Digoxin is meant to reduce heart rate when exercising but I may be wrong. My

Low ferritin
Hi All, I’ve lurked on and off for several months. I’ve always been told thyroid results are fine but this year I had a positive coeliac blood test result just before lockdown. I did a private thyroid test, no antibodies but TSH slightly elevated. Three weeks ago, more bloods at GP, I knew I had iron

Gastric atrophy ??
Now as I’m still new and trying to learn please may you add to my knowledge and correct anything I have misunderstood. I had a positive coeliac blood test, I’m not doing the gluten challenge and biopsy because this has gone on for over 20 years and I’ve put up. So now I have started ferrous fumarate

Kardia
Hi All. Just wondering if the Kardia unit is any benefit if you are in permanent Afib or is it more of value to someone with paroxysmal or intermittent episodes . I am in permanent although only diagnosed 3 weeks ago and I have read how good the Kardia is but not sure if it will only tell me what I

Am I still not absorbing iron?
My b12 was 88ng/L and iron 4ug/L.... after 3 years of symptoms, I have had my 5 b12 loading jabs a month ago and taking ferrous fumarate every other day as any more than that gives me diarrhoea. I'm not sure I'm absorbing the iron if its doing that to me. Still have bouts of tiredness and tingling and

High erythrocyte sedimentation rate, low RBC/haemoglobin, poor renal test results
I just got another blood test result back and my ESR is too high, there's no range given for some reason but it's 20mm/hr. I have Hashimoto's and lichen sclerosus, I'm on 150 mcg levothyroxine. TSH 0.03, FT4 19.4 (74% through range), FT3 5.2 (57% through range). Also taking 2.5 mg low-dose naltrexone

Hello everyone, I have my daughter's recent blood results and wanted to run them by you knowledgable people before we see her new paediatric endo next week. Adjustment period with supplements?
Hello all. I think was wondering what anyone's experience was when starting with B-complex and Folate tablets? Could it be Thyroid issues? High MCV and MCH for 3 years, very low ferritin. All with no anemia. Normal B12, Folate and Iron levels.
Hi all, I'm new here. This my third year of consistently high and increasing MCV and MCH levels, coupled with extremely low and unresponsive ferritin levels.
More on blood results:

Could it be ET?
A few months ago I noticed on my GP portal my platelets have been high for a few years and asked my new GP to investigate. She repeated bloods and platelets were 547. Haemoglobin fine, mcv ok but iron binding and transferrin index showed iron may be low so she has given me 3 months of ferrous fumarate

Help with supplements please!
Hello all, I was hoping for some advice about supplements. Last week I had some great advice from SlowDragon , SeasideSusie and humanbean after my last blood tests. In summary: Low Ferritin at 24 (range 10-291), but blood iron and rest of FBC fine (apart from high % hypochromic cells), B12 good at 874 (

Low iron levels
Have been prescribed ferrous fumarate as my iron levels are low which may be causing my breathlessness. I have had ECG and xray etc and they are ok. Wondered if anyone else has had this problem and how long these tablets take to work.
