Hi All. As mentioned in previous posts I have been on Digoxin & Eliquis Apixaban since the 11th August. The Digoxin seems to be doing a good job of reducing heart rate at rest and when I go for my daily walks. I do not think Digoxin is meant to reduce heart rate when exercising but I may be wrong.
My doctor put me on 630mg of Ferrous Fumarate a day for 28 days which I started
9 days ago. These last 3 days when going for a walk my heart rate has shot right up between 130-150 bpm which for just walking is high for me. I do not feel out of breath ,faint, chest pains or even like my heart is beating fast. Just wondering if any one has taken Ferroess Fumarate and found their heart rate has risen?
As it is not an "emergency" the wait for a phone appointment with doctor is around 7-10 days so not sure whether to phone her or just finish the Fumarate and see if bpm comes down. Thanks for any advice.

Good morning. I have been taking Eliquis Apixaban for a few years now but not with Digoxin. I do heavy exercise, including walking most days without the effect that you describe. Make an appointment with your GP. You have nothing to lose. It's what he's there for. It will bring a problem to his attention and or settle worries that you have. I do not know your age which could be a factor. Good luck.
I imagine your doctor put you on iron due to a deficiency however, I would call your doctor to let them know of these new symptoms. If you are anemic, there are plenty of ways to obtain more iron by adding iron-rich foods to your diet.
Bottom line, call your doctor even if it doesn't seem like an emergency. And ask why he put you on iron and if there is any other way to increase your iron intake besides medication.
Thank you Sayer & LPE44 for your replies. I have made a phone appointment with doctor but it is a weeks time. Funny but the very next day my BPM dropped again to the point where I was able to do a brisk 2 mile walk in 37.45 secs. I was only the last 1/4 mile-ish my heart rate started climb but not dangerously high. This normaly happens as my hip/glute starts to ache and I strugle a bit. I have now started some hip strengthening exercises to help.
Sorry bit slow in getting back to youbut more worried about step son who is only 45 and has had several scans including mri and now pet scan.
Like a lot of people I will be glad when you can do face to face with doctor.
