Effectiveness of medication
I am seeing a Cardiologist on Wednesday. For my AF the Bisoprolol now 2.5 mgs gives me poor rate control and continuous side effects. Digoxin has been sugested is it poisonous? My hypertension has not been controlled for years. Limited effectiveness of meds with all the side effects. I've been through

Weight loss and medication
Has anyone experience of losing weight and then needing their medication adjusted? I have recently lost about 20 lb, quite deliberately, over a 6 month period. My heart rate is sometimes now below 60 bpm when resting although I can still feel that I have an irregular beat. I am classed as being in

Hi, I am an old time poster
Hi, I was a member of the dilated cardiomyopathy forum at BHF. I signed up there 10 years ago when my mother was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy and left bundle branch block. There used to be a thread called "how long?". I wanted to post this there, but here I am. So, my 65 year old mother suddenly

I am new to this
In the past 18 months I have developed increasing joint pain . It is bad enough to keep me awake at night and is demoralising. It seems to move into different joints, now it is back ,feet and left shoulder. I am usually very active but this is making me feel ancient. I have asked if the drugs he has

Sleepy
Just started solatol (80 mg twice a day) after being on digoxin and .25 toloxin. Very sleepy - does this go away after time?

First time persistent AF - what should I expect?
I was hospitalised at the beginning of the month and am now on meds (bisoprolol, digoxin and Xarelto). My resting HR is about 90 but races when I do the most mundane of things. My BP is really low (89 75 the last time I had it done) I frequently feel dizzy when I get up or do anything and I am really

Back in AF with high pulse
A year after a cardioversion I am back in AF with a high pulse. In between I have had the occasion flutter which Flecainide has seen of. I felt happy, healthy, fit, contented a feeling I'd had for several months. I did a parkrun on a Saturday and was really pleased with my time and on Sunday woke

Side effects getting worse after 7 years
Hi all, 7 years ago I was diagnosed with AF and put on 10 mg Bisoprolol plus digoxin and diuretics as I also had heart failure. I also had a pacemaker implanted due to low HR. Since then I have always been slightly breathless but for the past year have been so breathless I cannot go up stairs. Once I

PVC's and PAC's Drastically Reduced/Stopped after years of terror and diminished life quality....? I'm not sure, but this is what I did..
Well, over the past couple of weeks my life has turned around for the positive and I cannot believe it!!!! I am so happy, but don't want to get too excited until more time has passed. After literally starting to plan my demise (that's right...having up to 13,000 + PVC's and hundreds of PAC's and not

Constantly on my mind
Hi all I've been here a while browsing, but now I'd like some answers that I don't seem to get from doctors. I've had paroxysmal AFib for 14 years had 1 bout that required hospital attention years ago and had an ablation in 2007, in march I was hospitalised 3 times for 3 days each time before my rate

I am a 74 yr old female with above problems. I am taking Warfarin, Bisoprolol, Digoxin, Candesartan, Atorvastatin & Furosemide. My first cardioversion lasted for 20 months but my second only a few hours. I had to wait so long for an outpatient follow up appointment I paid for a private consultation with

what is really causing my symptoms.
after now two years and trying to move a clot in my heart with warfarin, they are considering surgery. My breathlessness is more severe and disabling even to get up to go into the kitchen to wash up. I take digoxin and warfarin and another indapamide which is for HP. When I last spoke to my cardiologist

How to go forward.
I have written posts before but now after two years and am still in persistent AF. I went for an ablation at Birmingham last September 2016 but as they found a clot in my heart would not proceed. I take Digoxin and Warfarin but all the other drugs they have tried have either had too many side effects

A.F. Where do I go from here.
Good morning. I have been diagnosed with AF. for 15 month's. I was offered a cardiovasion in September 2016. I decided against it. As I was so afraid. Needless to say the Specialist was not happy. I did ask if there was anything else he could do ,but he told me that he had given me his advise which
